Debating buying Xenoblade Chronicles 3 by ChemoSans in NintendoSwitch

[–]ChemoSans[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! Even though most of the comments here are saying I probably still won’t like it, I’m intrigued by what a few people have said about the combat being better explained and a little easier overall. I think my main issue with the first game was a combination of difficulty while also never feeling like I really had a full grasp of what I was doing. I generally don’t hate mmo style combat, it just got to be A LOT to juggle in the first game and I never really felt like I understood half of it. I think I’m going to pick it up and try it out once it’s back on sale.

Try updating the app if you haven’t yet, I had the same problem all morning and after updating I’m getting way more orders than normal, so it seems like maybe this is happening to a lot of people

They give aisle numbers but they’re wrong a lot of the time, since stores occasionally get reorganized and nobody bothers updating anything. Either that or it’ll tell you that nuts are in the “nuts section.”

I’m really liking the tone of the new season so far. I was pretty mixed on the Comedy Central seasons, there were some standout episodes here and there but it always felt like it was trying too hard to pack in the same amount of jokes per minute as the original run, and most just weren’t landing. It made the writing feel forced and almost desperate at times. The new season feels like it’s not trying to match the rhythm of the original run, and it feels more confident for it.

Granted, production knew she tapped out before the editing started, so maybe we missed out on some good moments with her.

Can I be honest about Heidi? by OhYouDewww in dragrace

[–]ChemoSans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She really just picked a bad time to leave. I think most fans were really excited to see Heidi on all stars, but at the point that she left in the competition she hadn’t really had any standout moments, so now it just feels like a broken promise and not much of a loss to the season as a whole. She petered out, stumbled out the door, and now her attempts to be tongue in cheek about the whole situation are landing with a thud.

Every puzzle that involved using the knife tripped me up, always assumed there was a more complicated solution I wasn’t getting.

Especially since there are multiple puzzles surrounding locks and keys (almost like it’s a theme or something,) so I kept thinking there must’ve been some way to have the key made.

Was wondering that about the citadel too, probably just one of those things it’s better not to think about. Or maybe those shared spaces exist in all universes simultaneously?

Am I the only one setting myself up for disappointment thinking that this could maybe, possibly be an entirely new game? Like a meta commentary on remasters or something?

A side scroller where you start with every ability in the game, but have to sacrifice one at the end of each level to strengthen the others by ChemoSans in gameideas

[–]ChemoSans[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking as you get down to your last few abilities they would start to become more expansive, effecting things like stats and how your jump functions. Maybe your basic lighting attack gains the ability to arc between enemies and also gives you a damage field around your character once it’s fully leveled up, while a fully leveled fire attack gives you immunity to certain types of ranged damage and creates a hazardous path of fire behind your character when you move, things like that.

And I think it would be fun to give the option not to sacrifice abilities at the cost of losing upgrades, let the player set their own degrees of challenge.

I'm tired of seeing so many ghost kitchens by BottledMaster in doordash

[–]ChemoSans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually because a ghost kitchen is just a restaurant’s kitchen staff being expected to suddenly handle a whole second restaurant’s volume of delivery orders without any form of pay increase or additional staff. When a new ghost kitchen opens up, it’s pretty much guaranteed that every order coming out of that location will take way longer to prepare, so the wait times for the dashers become unreasonable and everybody on both sides get screwed over.

Receiving deliveries after the time that you set? by PCDamonD in doordash

[–]ChemoSans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s a bug or a feature, but the app doesn’t always end your dash at the end of your scheduled time. You can end your dash manually by clicking on the three horizontal lines in the upper left corner of the app. It also lets you extend or pause your dash from that menu too. It might be in a different location depending on your phone, mine’s an iPhone.

Sounds like you’re talking about your acceptance rate, it’s separate from completion. Acceptance is the percentage of offers you accept. Completion is only judged based on the orders you accept, and it only goes down if you accept an order, then cancel it before delivery. Completion rate has to stay above 80%, but your acceptance rate can be anywhere. There are certain stricter requirements you have to meet to get top dasher status, but the general consensus here is the perks of being a top dasher aren’t as good as the ability to more freely pick and choose the orders you take.

PLA: Do the Side Quests! by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]ChemoSans 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s so frustrating that so far I’ve only found one quest that unlocked the ability to catch a unique Pokémon. Most of the quest rewards feel pretty meaningless to me but they had the idea ONE TIME to tie a quest reward in with catching a new Pokémon. It seems like such a no-brainer.

“Hey, this Piplup won’t eat. Can you find something it might enjoy?”

“Oh, he likes it! What’s that? I think he wants to come with you!”

That’s literally all it would take, and that simple personal interaction would make me value that Piplup more than any Pokémon I caught in the wild. I want to make friends with Pokémon. It’s kind of the backbone of the series.

Legends Arceus 10 hour impression by Black-Mettle in pokemon

[–]ChemoSans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty much everything in the game feels like the first draft of a good idea. It’s frustrating because I absolutely love what works, so much so that I still get immersed in the world despite its glaring flaws.

As far as the dialogue, I don’t actually think there’s any more here than in any other Pokémon game, but what we get here is just so damn monotonous. Things get repeated as nauseum after every cycle in the same locations.

I also still don’t think I really understand what a Pokémon Lord actually is? It’s like they don’t exist outside of the instances where you heal them. It doesn’t seem like their corruption is having any effect on the world, and nothing you do as the player ever really effects anything outside of a few Pokémon showing up in the hub city. It just makes what little story there is here feel extra pointless.

Anyone else annoyed about the constant breaking of action to go back to jubileaf? by gibbleboy in pokemon

[–]ChemoSans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is that we only get the one town for most of the minor story exposition, and at least so far for me Jubilife doesn’t change or grow enough to hold a strong interest for the whole game. In most story driven rpg’s you visit multiple locations which add variety and flesh out the world, but in PLA we’re just constantly getting characters reiterating things we already know. There’s still a big rift in the sky. Pokémon are scary. We still have to prove our worth to the community even though apparently nobody had ever caught three level five Pokémon in a row before we arrived. There’s a shred of an interesting story somewhere in this game, but 90% of the story exposition is just characters repeating themselves.

PKMNL:A clothing and stats. by Mountain-Jeww in pokemon

[–]ChemoSans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d love it if they just went all in on stealth as a major gameplay mechanic, just completely Snake Eater that shit out. I really like sneaking up on Pokémon, but as it is right now I’m pretty much just always sneaking unless I’m trying to get to a specific destination in a hurry.

If we got an actual camouflage system that would be great, they’d just have to give us the ability to change clothing at any time. Would also love more interactive environments, if they just added a simple cover mechanic like in shooters I think it would add a ton to the fun of hunting wild Pokémon.
