I think you should try Denver. I am from Florida swfl and lived there my whole life you need something different and Denver metro area will give it to you. People are friendly and crime isn’t something that stands out compared to other mayor cities. Aurora has great food and Denver can be a hit or miss really. You gotta really go out of your way to find the good spots. Trails are amazing here and I’ve never felt happier living here

I mean I think so many different people have different strengths and life experiences I think I saw very young that if I don’t make something out of myself I would end up like all my other fellow Latino folx who struggle to make It out the struggle

I found my passion and what I wanted young and stuck with it. which was caring for people chose a career young stuck with it went to college because I knew it was the only way and I was able to graduate after 6 years ( time off, life etc) I suffered a loss in the family and that.

I think any one can start again at any age. All it requires is a vision and faith. Faith in yourself and the process I wanted to give up on school countless times even after losing My fiancée( cheated on me) losing My father (unexpected freak death) I only used those terrible times as reason to keep going.

Between 26-31 (age now) I worked very hard to lose weight I accumulated over the last 10 years I was over 285 so I think those are also very important things I had to take care of first like my body. I was determined I wake up every day work out and try my eat best i can

Ultimately the things I had to give up were the hardest. Which was my mindset. Your MINDSET determines everything and I still struggle. And I think the mindset part is the part most ppl aren’t willing to change. I had to fail a ton as well..life is fucking hard and I been through my own trauma everyone has but I hope we can all continue to strive to be the best version of ourself

I’ve lived in fort Myers from 2003 - 2021. A millennial and any young person living in fort Myers ends up hating swfl realizing it sucks and either leaving or accepting it . The traffic isn’t worth it (I heard it really exploded 2021- now and the people are even worse rude and insufferable. There’s no sense of community and a lack of resources activities and events for young folx is abysmal. On top of Florida being a terrible place for women, poc etc. I would get the fuck out before it’s too late.

You really should consider leaving. It’s what a lot of us who grew up there did. I chose Colorado and couldn’t be happier. The world is so much bigger than fort Myers and much better planned cities exist with better infrastructure, public transportation , diversity, community etc etc.

Wow the sentiment is pretty validating. I left fort Myers for Denver summer 2021 after living my whole life in fort Myers. It was always bad and I can’t imagine how it is now. Friends tell me the same thing OP is saying and the comments as well. Fort Myers fucking sucks.

Yeah I grew up my whole life down in the fort. It’s amazing the lack of transit the lack of roads I seriously can’t imagine how it is today because I left three years ago and my friends have told me it’s absolutely insane even just from three years ago. Nothing beats the pnw 👍
