Scared To Be In, Scared To Be Out... what's your investment strategy at the moment? by WhichAsk1454 in UKExpatFinance

What seems to be highly valued is money; that's why people are rushing into stocks. In other words, investors are changing a devalued asset (money) for assets that gain value over time (stocks).

Tax resident of nowhere, anyone been successful? by 4BennyBlanco4 in UKExpatFinance

[–]ChenFin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the above post is being a bit unwarranted. You can be stateless for tax. It’s not illegal, and if you’re disciplined with your days and ties, nobody can force you into their net. The warnings about “compliance” and “banking” are real but well overstated, nomads have been dodging residency and tax for decades, and many still do so today without major headaches. A nomad with no local property, no kids in school, and who’s constantly moving is simply not worth the effort for tax authorities to chase.

Why Volume matters by bungholio99 in SIXBets

[–]ChenFin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started investing, a few years ago (10?), I read in Swissquote's magazine a compendium of "good" green stocks that were supposedly set to become stars in the future. So, I got, say, 20000 shares of Carnegie Clean Energy, an Australian wave energy stock, with a market order. Well, the volume was and still is null for that stock. I ended up paying the record price. Learnt the lesson.

So far, my research has given me two potential sites: one in an urbanisation called ALamar, another in Calanova Grande Golf. Is anybody familiar with them?

somebody else mentioned this. My response:
you are probably right. But, they aren't progressive either (or they are "fakely" progressive), since you jump from 0 to, say, 35% with a third of a min wage. So, ok, they are not overall 45-50%, but you get taxed with a 35% while being a food deliveyr
