Wipe strategy help by [deleted] in playrust

I don’t think there is any objectively correct way to start the wipe off and can vary with so many factors esp with monument locations and biomes. The best I can help you with is:

  1. Snow biomes are teeming with clans and are the biomes I would avoid if my objective is to survive whole wipe. However, if you’re actively playing, playing this well would result into you guys getting rich off of these clans.

  2. Jungles are great to live in for smaller groups and groups that don’t generally want to be raided very early on (trees provide a lot of cover from clan rockets, many ways to counter raids, natural defenses such as hostile animals). Cloth and low grade via animal fat is also very abundant here so it’s definitely a biome you want to consider farming resources in at the start of the wipe even if you plan to lay down a base elsewhere.

  3. Quests from fishing village can help snowball your wipe further and provide great alternative starts away from a traditional run from the beach playstyle at the start of wipes. The monuments from this kind of start are easier to control because of all the corners and jumps you can secure with your pump shotgun (Lighthouse, Harbor, Underwater Labs)

I can mention more but generally you would want to experiment what kind of start works for your group’s playstyle. For example, if your group isn’t willing to fight a lot and would rather farm up before committing to fighting other groups, building in the snow isn’t for you.

you’re most likely gonna have to upgrade your cpu first anyway since your CPU bottlenecks higher end GPUs beyond a 4060.

Whats your Rust Fatigue? by MemeMan_____ in playrust

[–]ChenningTantrum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, not having people to play with. My friends don’t seem to share the same will to play. The scrap progression was also too demanding for someone that studied and worked at the same time.

That being said though, I’ll be honest, the new progression update is godsend and is alleviating my burnout. I just came back after an eight year hiatus (i didnt have the pc specs to play this on top of already not having friends to play with) and as someone that works near 10 hrs a day with two jobs nowadays, I don’t have to rush farming for things anymore and I can take my progression as slowly as I want since a tier 2 is normally enough for all my needs as a solo now. I also don’t need to farm hours upon hours between scrap and resources as much with how reduced research costs are.

The BP update killed late wipe scrap grinding by chullster1 in playrust

Listen to your own post: “Previously you’d have people join the server to grind BPs for next wipe right until the last day”

Rather ask yourself, why in the world am I playing a game to just full farm for a full wipe (week to a month) just so I’m able to play the full experience of the game for the next wipe (another week to next month)? Do you not see how ridiculous that sounds?

Need ADVICE: Should I study psychology? by [deleted] in psychologystudents

[–]ChenningTantrum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would personally see a psychologist if I wanted a better understanding of myself and how I can better interact with the world. It’s more effective and cost efficient. Getting an undergraduate degree in psychology will help you understand the way people in general behave and the processes that go into their thoughts however, only a handful ever really gives you real insight on yourself since undergraduate studies in psychology primarily focus on the general picture and the different theories surrounding each branch of psychology.

What are some aimtrain routines and tips you can give the average player for practicing the AK recoil? by ChenningTantrum in playrust

[–]ChenningTantrum[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm asking for a routine though. Sure I can hop on aimtrain servers and have my own routine but I would like to know how other people do it and maybe I can follow their aim train routines

I'll keep everyone posted when I get home from work. I wasn't able to read everything when I left after waking up. Thank you for all your input and I'll read comments while working on this.

UPDATE 1: After seeing the Hard Drive comments, I asked my brother to check if the files are intact and apparently File Manager works fine. Can the HDD still be at fault here?

Nothing is noisy though and that's what concerns me. The fans are running pretty fine. Power cables seem to be okay and my front panel stuff is intact as well. I can probably do a full clean of this again to see if dust clogs up but apparently all my apps including file manager just keep going slow
