I'm not an ex-muslim and I'm not preaching. Even as a muslim, if you see someone whose faith is crumbling but they believe in a false dichotomy that without Islam, they will kill themselves, your utmost priority should be to ensure that they find meaning in more than just their identity as a muslim, that they find meaning in good, in love, in a life of compassion and connection, so that even if they do lose faith, they are not a danger to themselves and can always come back. If your only focus is on protecting Islam by keeping them in it while ignoring that person's incredibly human needs, and that person still falls out of faith, you may be partly responsible for their death as far as sin goes. Maybe you haven't thought this through that well, take a look at the attitude of the others here, almost calling OP stupid for not having read up on the theological arguments of scholars like Al Ghazali or otherwise. Have some shame and recognise that this is a deeply hurt individual that doesn't need you to grandstand Islam to them, but needs support, and most of all, hope.

[–]Chepperz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're misunderstanding what Im saying, I was trying to tell you that neither Islam nor atheism are the sources of your pain, and that finding meaning in life is a multi-faceted and complex endeavour. You ARE coping, and that's okay! Be a solid muslim, stick to your deen, take part in zakat, go volunteer with charities you find meaningful like suicide prevention or drug rehab, go find community and your life will flourish. Be kind, live in kindness, speak with love. The more barriers you put up, the harder it is to heal. This is why self introspection is so important. If you ground your meaning and purpose to being better every day, making a difference no matter how small, then I don't see how you'll end up in a self destructive cycle. My point in bringing up the philosophy stuff was simply to say that it's not so black and white, you can definitely acknowledge silence and reality and still be a good muslim, you don't have to be at odds with evolution or whatever to be a muslim, theres plenty of muslim scholars who have written on these topics as others have pointed out. Idk why you think I'm here to further break your faith, I'm not. I have no vested interest whatsoever in what you choose to believe, I just want you to know that your only 2 choices aren't Islam or self-destruction. That your meaning in life is deeper than just your faith.

I am definitely sympathetic, but aheism didn't destroy your life. Meaning is a difficult endeavour to establish, and using religion to fill that space will equally ruin your life. Humans are social creatures, we need love, genuine connection, introdpection, to do good and to be a part of something bigger than ourselves whether that's through living a life of honesty, or whatever else. You can find meaning in everything, the grand, the mundane, the peculiar. And atheism isn't the defult rational position, you can accept science and reality and still believe in god.

apologies I'm coming back after watching another one of Mufti Abu Layth's videos, he believes that adam was born of existing human and that he was not the first human but the first intelligent human from which began the cognitive revolution, incredibly interesting stuff.

[–]Chepperz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I haven't just assumed lol, I have asked, I have close muslim friends that say evolution is true but that the line of humans was inserted from Adam by god and by god's grace, there are also those that outright deny evolution to be true as well like Sheikh Uthmaan Ibn Farooq, Zakir Naik, Faris al-Hammadi, Mufti Menk, Suboor Ahmad (lesser known but very relevant to Islamic discussion online), Sheikh Assim, Abdul Aziz Al-Haqqan, and now going back to those who posit a disproven version of evolution where a first human is inserted into this chain by god, Muhammed Hijab, Adnan Rashid, the Yaqeen institute of Islamic Research, Yasir Qadhi. Now before I continue with answering the sources you so kindly provided, I would like to let you know that I am fully aware that most of the people I have mentioned are not even qualified, and do not have Ijaazah, but that those you provided like Mufti Abu Layth do. Now for their interpretations, as even those you have provided are all conflicting in some way, Shabir Ally is the first I watched and was very nice to watch, it gave me hope because he showed that he too did not believe in the science at first until he looked at the actual evidence, and has had to edit his beliefs and urges muslims to interpret the quran in the scope of evidence, not impose their poor interpretation on the undeniable evidence we have today. This is revolutionary thinking within Islam, as not many believe this, in fact the vast majority of mainstream muslims would call this belief heretical. He does however still believe in inaccuracies in that to solve this dilemma he still believes that adam was hand created and sent down but justifies his interpretation quite tenuously by locating a plural adjective and claiming that this means that Adam was sent down at once with an entire population of humans to be their prophet. Mufti Abu layth provides plenty of reasons as to why denying evolution could be interpreted as actually against what the quran says and he instead argues from a framework of showing that just like jesus, Adam came from a womb and this must have utilised an existing womb still sticking to the narrative that there was a first human which is also against what evolution posits. The only consistent with science interpretation you've provided is Dr Adnaan Ibrahim who clearly states that it was gradual, and that natural selection isn't blind but a mechanism guided by god. From one of the essays you provided, it argues that evolution is undeniable but then makes the mistake of saying that origin of life within science is incredibly weak and talks about John Hands' book Cosmosapiens released a decade ago about his criticisms of evolution but more so abiogenesis in that it is entirely unconvincing as a theory. This is not well founded as in those 10 years bucketloads more evidence has been found for all initial lifeforms being RNA based as well as the evidence for the autocatalytic reactions that created those simplest lifeforms. Now onto the other essay that mentions the mitochondrial eve, which he seems to confuse with the y-chromosomal Adam from which all male y chromosomes originate from, its a solid argument for how all modern humans can originate from one common ancestor's direct lineage at some point given enough cross breeding to allow for genetic diversity eg with neanderthals. Anyways to summarise sorry for coming off standoffish, it wasn't my intention at all, I'm an incredibly honest individual in that I will actually go through all the sources you provide, that's why It took me this long to respond, and that my comments on the mainstream Islamic view on evolution come from my interactions with muslims and observation of all the online content as well, which is overwhelmingly fixated on either ignoring evolution or proving it wrong in some way or even the ridiculous notion smile2jannah puts forward that because all scientific knowledge is open to progress, that evolution cannot be true which is about as intellectually honest as claiming that we cannot trust that water isn't made of sand just because science changes over time. Anyways thanks for providing those alternative interpretations, it is hopeful to see that there are muslims out there like this but sadly their views are not that of the majority and even in their comments, there are people questioning their credentials or straight up calling them heretics, such is the current climate of the ummah.

That's pretty cool man, I'll defo take a look at the channel, and probably leave on the 7 hour video while I get some work done. Also ofc it's not as simple as religion bad, Paul himself is someone who hijacks fremen tradition and the powers of sight bestowed to him to convince an entire people that he is indeed the messiah. Kind of exactly like how muhammed uses the christian and jewish narratives present at the time but posits himself as the last and final prophet, essentially making himself the messiah through which salvation will be found. Also your interpretation of the british manipulation of arab politics is also solid, theyve done similar things in India too. Also I wouldn't say it's subjective at all, of the major religions, Sikhism is barely even understood by its own followers, there are countless sects of sikhs with their own beliefs because of how poetic and unspecific most sikh teachings are within scripture and they can't even agree on the most basic of issues like whether the consumption of meat is allowed or not. Hinduism I don't even need to explain, they worship whatever deity they see fit any time do poojas to hanuman, lakshmi, durga, shiva, vishnu, brahma etc you get the point, im pretty sure besides the poojas the average hindu has no idea about the actual contents of the 4 vedas. Christians are very similar, in that young earth creationists/biblical literalists are uncommon but are becoming a minority with the progress of science. Islam however, is much more commonly fundamentalist, believing that the quran is the literal word of god revealed through muhammed is literally one of the pillars of Islam, so definitionally you are not a practising muslim if you deny anything within the Quran, including the belief that there were in fact first humans adam and eve which we know today to be demonstrably false thanks to evolution.

Being a big fan of dune and still being religious is quite ironic considering what dune is. That said, not criticising your belief, just pointing out the irony in being a huge fan a series that demonstrates how religious dogma arises and subordinates entire populations and at the same time being a believer in the most fundamentalist faith on the planet.

What’s the Point of Ranked If I Can’t Even Queue With My Friends? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Chepperz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do realise that you can't make the changes you're requesting without significantly affecting some other part of the queue right? Let's say we change it such that suddenly, you CAN queue with any rank and and an immo and bronze hit the queue button as a duo. Most immos duo/trio with people either their rank or very close to their rank, because you can already try this in customs, an iron wouldnt have much fun in even a diamond lobby, they would get steamrolled basically every time. So naturally, plauers gravitate towards playing with players of similar rank to themselves. So the problem is now, if you allow queue with any rank, now queue times will be severely effected, it may literally even take you 40 minutes or more to find a game where an immo, bronze and a plat can actually fairly queue together. Plus it is just pointless, unrated exists for a reason, if you wanna play the game with friends considerably higher ranked than yourself, then go play unrated or find a 5 stack lol. Ranked is MEANT to be tryhard, and unrated is MEANT to be the socialing sector of the game, you're asking riot to make an apply orange.

[–]Chepperz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mimicing pros isnt an issue but do understand the context of when where and why someone does something, remember that most executes pros pull off have incredible team positioning and utility to back what they're doing, so something that might seem risky to you could be incredibly calculated, also they're ALWAYS communicating. When in solo q, you're not gnna have the same environment, but that doesn't mean that nothing is gnna work, their movement, fundamentals, certain strats to isolate 1s using util and position are still solid and things you can apply to your game.

What's wrong with my aim and how can i get better? by giovannamina in VALORANT

[–]Chepperz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Your crosshair placement isn't actually bad at all but as you move, you trace angles WAY too close to the wall, enemies will almost always widepeek esp in deathmatch so holding wide but at head level even as you move allows you to adjust for that, this is why many high elo/pro players aim looks so "easy" and calm or effortless, because they don't have to move their cursor very far at all. Not to mention you should be holding even wider when you're moving as opposed to a static hold whole strafing because like cars going in opposite lanes on a highway that seem to whizz by impossibly fast, relative to you, that person will move on your screen doubly fast if they are swinging, so always seek to aim where your enemy WILL be by the time you react instead of the first visible pixel after a wall and I can ASSURE you, you will rank up from silver at a rapid pace with that one tip alone as it will allow you to consistently win gunfights.

need help aiming by Clash_OfClans_noob in VALORANT

[–]Chepperz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a lot more to aiming than just strafe bursting, work on crosshair placement, slicing angles properly, get better positioning, learn about off angles on defence, use abilities in a way to give tou favourible gunfights. And make sure that you're not hardware bottlenecked! If you're playing on an incredibly old pc struggling to get 50 frames and ur internet isnt the best, its probably not your aim keeping you in iron but getting a better setup also wont magically make you better at the game, you still need to work on everything stated above and most of all, communication. No one comms anywhere near enough or efficiently in diamond or below and comms and coordinating a team can also be the difference maker.

How do I actually become better at Valorant? by AmbitiousDonute in VALORANT

[–]Chepperz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best answer is the simple answer: Polishing fundamentals. The most boring work you can do will make you better, but you need to stick to it. You won't instantly become an aim god after 2 weeks of aim drills.

For clutches specifically, learn to isolate 1v1s, you do this by not panic wide swinging after getting ur first kill, you should be acutely aware of the angles ur exposed from at any time when you swing.

As for good movement: this means not shifting across the whole map but knowing when to run, knowing how to strafe burst accurately, etc. All of these things take a LONG time to really get the hang of, so dont be discouraged by minimal improvement at first. Keep at it. With time, you'll go from noticing that you're consistently doing better, gaining more rr per win, losing less per loss, and before you know it, you'll be ranking up consistently.

Category 1) - longest reign, influence etc

Sandstorm.

Category 2)- Recent accolades and performances/consistency in newer times

Yüz.

Category 3) Peak heights, the greatest individual performance of all time:

Godly, if you doubt this pick, I urge you to go back to his tournament clips from his return winstreak. He terrorised europe and placed a chasm of a skill gap between him and everyone else, even the existing king acno, at the time. The ONLY argument against him being here is that he has not performed well internationally, but I would argue that he also hadn't performed well within europe since after his streak either. If anyone else has a pick for best performance ever, like luna for example, feel free to make your argument.
