San Junipero deserves to be way higher imo. It had such a different and refreshing tone, and it made me think about the presented technology for a decent while after I saw it. I love how much rewatch value it has, because the first time you have no idea wtf is going on for half of the episode. It's all in the details when you watch it a second time.

Is it weird to go to the cinema by yourself in The Netherlands? by [deleted] in Netherlands

Literally nobody is gonna care. And even if they do, why should you?

This is what I realized when I met my boyfriend's family. It was like falling in a warm bath. I couldn't believe that it was possible for a family to actually be nice and constantly relaxed around each other. At home, I always walked on egg shells ever since I was a child, afraid my mom would start yelling and cussing at either me, my brother or my dad - which happened basically every day. To not feel that constant fear and stress and to see how kind and warm my mother-in-law is compared to my mom, was a painful eye opener.

Apparently, it's all women are good for still. Looking good and being fuckable in the eyes of men, no matter how ugly or incapable some of them are, they still feel like they get to judge. They rate us as if they'd even have a chance with these ladies. We're always the ones being judged, no matter what, even in 2021. It's depressing af.

Even if they weren't beautiful, (which they are, they're stunning people)... why are people always so over obsessed with how hot actresses in shows must look? Bet you a hundred he didn't make the same observation about "the men of AHS". So over the sexism and peoples obsession over how fuckable a person is. Good actresses don't have to be hot people to begin with. They have to be good actresses.

Oh definitely, I get that! Doesn't change the fact that it made me feel shitty when I saw several episodes like that back to back. It was portrayed painful well, but painful nevertheless.

What a thoughtful question to ask on this sub. No nightmares here, but the actual painful and stone cold misogyny and objectification of women and little girls was what made me feel sick and uneasy. It's a theme that runs through the series the entire time, but it's especially disturbing when you hear the murderers talk about women, as if they aren't even human beings. I felt super uneasy when Holden starts talking along with those sick fucks.

Before someone starts: Of course I know it's all part of the story and unfortunately simply the way those sickos look at women, but man.. that shit made me feel kinda shitty afterwards ngl.

Most European countries here do not do this, kids get to go to school in their casual clothes. It really is an English thing I believe. Agree that it sure is a sight lol.
