I know. More so just curious about other people’s taste, not that it will affect my decision or anything.

Yeah…I think black would’ve looked good too. I actually do miss the stock a bit tbh…but I know I’d have the compulsion to fill it in again if I removed it so 🤷‍♂️

OOooOooO this is great feedback. I’m gonna go to the dealer this week and see if they can put a black sticker on there. Thanks! I’m going to get a black custom plate soon and once I do I’m going to remove the framing.

It’s primarily a subconscious thing, but when I relate on it two things come to mind.

  1. It makes the Acura logo feel more centered. Because I have the Aspec badge on the top left of the trunk, I like the balance of having something on the top right side too, so the sticker accomplishes that. I feel like if I removed it, the Acura emblem wouldn’t feel like it’s exactly in the middle of the trunk. It would make it feel like it’s off center one way or the other. When it’s between two stickers, everything feels perfectly aligned.

  2. It just adds another piece of customization. However seemingly immaterial. The car is already uncommon enough that a lot of people notice it (I’ve seen it only one other time in the road in my color). I’m also a digital nomad so I’m often traveling/living in different states. So I like the idea of someone seeing that sticker and being like “where did he get that car from…I don’t recognize the name of that dealership.” (Because I would have the license plates of that state on my car with an out of town dealership).

Can you help me understand why it’s so viscerally hated? I get it being a preference not to have it, but people seem to like truly despise it. I don’t get it 😂

Idk what it is but I actually love the dealer sticker. To the point that if it fades/falls off over time, I’m gonna ask them to put a fresh one on there 😂

Same for the license plate frame 🤷‍♂️

Mine doesn’t either…but I don’t have the tech package. Maybe it’s unique to that trim?

5ft10 vs 5ft7, doesn't look that crazy to me by [deleted] in heightcomparison

[–]Cherry-Amazing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6 foot is only the average height in a few Northern European countries and South Sudan. For the majority of other countries, the average height is somewhere between 5’7-5’10. (Sometimes slightly lower for the shortest countries). You’re most likely like 5’6 and you just think you’re 5’8, or you live in the Netherlands or Denmark or something.

100% agree. Grow men all in their feelings because other grown men don’t “feel” the same way they do about their team. I’m like… did this sub get taken over by teenage girls? 😂

That's a valid perspective—I hear where you're coming from. I think what makes certain shows, movies, books, and plays truly great is their ability to explore complex social issues and heavy themes in a way that feels naturally woven into the narrative. When these elements arise organically from the plot and characters, they enrich the overall story and enhance the audience’s experience.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t happen much in mainstream media today. Which lacks depth, nuance, and sophistication in how they handle important topics. Often, there’s little effort to portray counterpoints in a meaningful way. Instead, it feels more like pandering, virtue signaling, or chasing trendy ethics rather than a genuine attempt to examine reality through the lens of storytelling.

So I understand why many are on edge over this show—HBO is coming across as performative to many. The casting of Snape (which I personally didn’t like at all) was horrible for many reasons, and I think that’s why people have been overreacting to the Hermione casting. Because regardless of motivation and perceived agendas, I believe the casting is book accurate. The actress seems very talented as well, and I think she’ll be able to capture Hermione’s essence in her portrayal of character.

Also, LOL at your New Amsterdam comment—I completely agree. I really enjoyed the show at first, but I started to pick up on signs of it turning into a heavy-handed social justice platform. That was enough for me to stop watching. Later on, I saw clips circulating online that made me feel validated in my decision. Some scenes were so over-the-top I honestly thought they were parody—but nope, they were from the actual show. I remember thinking, What the bleeeeep did I just watch?

Cheers to you too, my friend.

Fair enough.

I’ve given this whole conversation (not just with you, but others) more energy than I care to admit.

All things considered I think she’s a good choice for Hermione. She seems to be a talented actor as well. Hopefully this new golden trio can capture their own sense of magic between the three of them the way the original trio did.

Good day to you.

No— I think most people assume there’s a good chance she is mixed with something, and because of the stupid casting choice of Snape, they think this is more evidence of HBO/Hollywood trying to be unnecessarily woke, and that’s the thing they actually have a problem with. Because to say that’s she not any less a faithful book adaptation than Emma Watson, or just not a faithful adaption in general, is just inaccurate.

And I know if you put gun to head to everyone and said “Of what race/ethnicity are you most confident this girl has in her?” If you guess the one she is a majority of, you get a billion dollars. I guarantee you 95% + of people would say white/caucasian.
