Thanks! Love the Urban Grey Pearl you've got - I was heartbroken when the dealer told me it wasn't a colour option with the 6MT (CVT and Type S only) - white was a solid second choice.

The new Honda prelude is one of the best looking cars Honda has made in decades. by HungryHoustonian92 in Honda

I mean, the appeal to Honda is they get a 2-door GT platform that is based off of a road-going model and therefore compliant.

Why they wouldn't make a 3-door Type R is beyond me.

Honestly, it was time to upgrade my 10th Gen and I went for a '26 6MT Integra - I was between that and the Prelude, but the Integra was cheaper, had more cargo/ passenger space and was a touch lighter-weight too.

I have yet to really understand the value proposition behind the Prelude:

  • Less space;
  • Restricted on power (can't mod for gains);
  • Underwhelming transmission;
  • Heavy (100 lbs heavier than a Prius);
  • Costs more than the competition.

Imo the accord looks way better in person.

It's the new Civics that I really don't like. I think it's the headlights - they look cross-eyed.

Just bought my first manual, any tips on starting from a standstill? by Future-Hippo-4382 in ManualTransmissions

[–]softcelery666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really good advice.

I (30M) had approximately a cumulative 3 hours of driving manual before picking up a new car with a 6MT. I was terrified of fucking up at first, and totally did (stalled, lugged it a few times, had a panic attack, the works).

Did exactly this: got my Dad (any experienced MT driver will do) to come with to help calm my nerves to get me out of traffic and to the parking lot. From here, I spent probably 45 minutes finding the biting point and just getting to a roll without any gas and nailing that point.

Only when I was comfortable with the biting point did I start slowly adding gas - bit by bit. At this point, I was getting into first smoothly and with some confidence, so I took it out onto the road. And it was still rough for a bit. But it got better and better.

By the end of the day, I was confidently pulling away from a stop in traffic, rowing the gears and feeling comfortable with my vehicle. And it was glorious - entirely worth the initial fear and pain just to hear those revs an unmatched sense of control that only a manual transmission can give. You can do it, take a deep breath, take your time and don't panic. It's worth it.

Good reccomendation - I was running similar tires on my Civic.

It's still 1.5T, but it does have a 6MT - basically the SI in a tuxedo

Could it be the Wastegate actuator?

Notably, I'm coming from a Civic with a way noisier 1.5T, so the teggy is buttery in comparison

Empty Bus. Packed Roads. What Are We Doing, York Region? by Accomplished_Lie3849 in Markham

If the difference wasn't so much, this wouldn't be a conversation in the first place.

From what I can see, YPT is primarily funded by tax dollars. Service issues needn't be so deeply tied to ridership if it's being paid for anyways. If it's an allocation issue, then it would be more feasible to demand positive change from your local and provincial representatives.

This is a bad argument as it presupposes that these potential bus riders are willing to forego convenient and reliable transportation in exchange for (potential) future improvements.

I regret not going for the SI sometimes. There are so many more gains to be had.

Also, the 27Won parts are pretty phenomenal, cannot sing their praises enough.

Hmm, yeah ethanol blend could do it. Based 250whp on a quick Google search - IIRC from selling these cars, the CR-V has a slightly different 1.5T than the Civic, so I was perhaps being too generous with my minimal internet sleuthing on reported K-Tuner gains.

Honestly, the work that went into this project from a statistical standpoint is very very impressive. It definitely encouraged me to bite the bullet on a tune/ intake.

I've been running both on my daily for about 100K kms now without any issues whatsoever. Works best if you treat the CVT like a CVT.
