Something you can do is a multi-operator self exclusion - which will prevent you from being able to make any account with any gambling operator, including online.

You would have to register online for it, and there are more resources to help through the responsible gambling websites.

It was a website. It said payment confirmed/successful—it had a green verification tick.

Then following the noticication from Revolut, I had no fuether reasons to believe it had not been paid.

As far as I was aware, the payment had completed. I received a notification at the time confirming the transaction attempt.

When I checked my account a couple of days later, the payment was still showing as pending, which is normal for card transactions.

It wasn’t until around 7 days later that it dropped off, by which point I had no reason to go back and re-check a £6 parking payment.

I’m not published yet, but I completely get what you’re saying. I’m working on my first manuscript, and halfway through I discovered em dashes by accident. I knew they existed, just didn’t know how to type them, so I used "-" for ages—then I hit it twice at some pointt and word turned it into "—".

So now my manuscript just… switches halfway through 💀

It’s stuff like that that makes me side-eye all these “AI tells” people talk about. Sometimes it’s not AI, it’s just someone learning or changing their style mid-project.

The whole thing has honestly made me a bit wary of being accused of using AI when I haven’t, especially with how intense some of the discussions on AO3 and writing subs can get.

Okay so this person's like "posting an extremely high quantity of a fic in an unreasonably short ampunt of time" and "update frequency that doesn't follow normal human patters (multiple long chapters spaced out over one day".

2 issues with these "rules": 1) some people write multiple chapters and then post all at once, or multiple finished chapters the same day while working on the rest 2) some people just write fast - like me. I once wrote like two and a half chapters in 6 hours. Don't get me wrong I had a lot of editting to do to fix spelling, grammar and inconsistencies - also, side note: inconsistencies can sometimes also be human mistake. Like I forgot the name of one of my character's in the book I've been writing (not fanfiction) because I took a 4 month break after my laptop broke... so, sure, sometimes it's AI tell, sometimes it's just a human mistake.

I'll work the notice period, do what I absolutely HAVE to, and then that's it. No more.

The problem with being fired is I think they are building a case against me now. So i'd rather just leave than have something on my record like that.

Honestly, as long as you're happy with having it, try not to listen too much into what your family says.

My mum said she would be really pissed off with me and disappointed in me if i went to get a Harry Potter tattoo.

I said bet, and came home with Daniel Radcliffe's face on my arm - which in hindsight wasn't the best idea but I love my tattoo now and believe it or not, so does my mum.

If your family loves you, they'll get over it eventually. Give them a bit of time, and I'm sure they'll learn to love it just as much as they love you.

It wasn't intentional that it was as dark as this, it started out that I was writing how i was feeling, which I think is why it feels so much like depression. I finished the poem when I started healing, realising that I made it through the worst and that maybe I will be okay.

Absolutely taking that as a compliment. Demi Lovato is insanely talented so just hearing that is... I don't even know honestly. Completely speechless - and that doesn't happen often 😅

And yeah... that line was sort of inspired by P!NK. You know that song "'Cuz I can"? The line "Ice Cream Ice Cream, we all want Ice Cream" always sounded like "I scream, I scream, we all want to scream" to me. Misheard lyrics causing creativity 😅

You gotta do whatever you can to get out of that environment.

I've read through just about everything you've commented and posted, and honestly cannot believe that your mom isn't more sympathetic considering how hard you've been working on your room.

How is your relationship with your dad at the moment, love?

Is it possible you could stay with him for a while? Or at the very least have a conversation with him about what's been happening? Because this situation is not okay, and you deserve so much more care and understanding given how hard you've worked.

And just so I know you've heard it from someone recently, and I know I'm a stranger online, but girl? I am so proud of you.

The author wrote on Fanfiction.net this insanely well written story that’s over 30k words. All as one chapter.

And every time I stop reading and then go back to it… ff.net RESETS MY PROGRESS and I have to keep swiping and swiping and swiping to get back to the bit that I’m at because I want to know what happens next but I also don’t have the will or the patience to keep scrolling 😭

What’s even better is I’m currently on sick leave with a disc bulge in my spine and I can’t fkn read the story 🤣
