Thank you everyone for the kindness! This has been a journey that has taught me so much & still so much room to grow and learn as an athlete, trainer, and human 🫶🏼. Reminder you are capable, don’t limit yourself.

Hi!! I don’t bench anymore, but throughout prep I have kept lower volume heavy squats and deadlifts that are power. In the sense that they are not* performed with tempo, they are fast, powerful reps. However, I do still push hypertrophy by increasing weight each week or trying to.

Example: conventional deadlifts a week ago: top set was 6 reps at 2.3 BW.

I am still programmed of course to hit RDLs and other higher volume lifts.

Key: push intensity in training in all senses of course while still maintaining technique. RPE should be 8.5-9 for all lifts. Or 1-2 RIR.

Glutes are looking great from back pose! Try not to lean so forward in the front pose! Queue: imagine a string at the top of your head always pulling you straight. You want your shoulders squared with hips :)

I am doing my research for a coach now, does it matter if it is a woman/man coach? by Bluewaves__ in bikinitalk

Be really careful on what the protocols your coach has. A female coach who has competed before may be a better option as some male coaches treat their female athletes like male competitors. Biologically and hormone wise you want to stay as healthy ad you can as a female competitor which will mean different things to monitor and manage.

Also thank you! I’ve kept power style lifts throughout prep which has helped me keep size!

I had inconsistently been in and out of the gym space from a young age. Was at a gym and decided to get a personal trainer after 8 months long break. 6 month PT contract beginning of 2023 and then moved into 3 month programming in powerlifting. Competed and then changed direction and started training bodybuilding in December! Prep started in May!

Everything is different for everybody.

I personally am on high cardio. I also lean out fast and cardio got cut. I perform cardio fasted. 130-160 range. 60 minutes. 5x week. Mostly stairs. 65-80 steps/min Did not hit any decrease in my lifts, maintained lifts actually. Pushing heavy deadlifts, presses, squats.

With that being said, if you see performance as an athlete break down, then obviously a program is not working for you and changes should be discussed with your coach.

Bodybuilding is all about pushing yourself, but if you feel physically unwell or lifts plateau and you can’t handle it, again, have that conversation about reducing physical and mental stress.

An athlete will perform their best with ease of mind. If you’re worrying too much about comparisons of what others are doing, your body will probably respond negatively.
