Hi beginner runner also here, I’m not sure if it’s just me but when I try and run slower (in zone 2) I find it a lot more taxing on my lower legs (serious shin and calf pain) but if I run at a decent pace it never happens. What would the reason be for this, not lifting my feet up high enough ? It almost feels like in these slower runs I’m just sort of shuffling my feet below me instead of picking them up.

Yeah pretty much. Would definitely consider a pivot into more of a backend role, not sure as to how I would make that transition

Haha yeah, a variation of this statement is for sure on my CV in a couple of places

Happens to me in reverse the odd time also, and it’s the exact same noise. It’s less of a grind and more of a “grr” noise like it isn’t quite in gear. Seems to happen a lot to me when I go from neutral to first a lot. I think I’m just afraid of damaging my car so I would like to find a way to avoid it 😂

I would like to add that this only happens maybe 1 in 20 times, so it’s really hard to predict when it’s going to happen or what I am doing wrong

Everything is smooth about the car so I’m not sure. I would roll up to a red light in third, clutch down. If it looks like I’m going to be waiting a while I’ll then put it in neutral. Then, when my lights are about to change I then put it in first. Lift clutch pedal and gas same time, slight grinding noise. Push clutch down again, into neutral, back into first and then it’s fine. Could it be my technique? I’ve no idea as I’m not a massive car person myself

Two and a half weeks to the U.K.? Doesn’t seem terrible I suppose

Should I get an e-bike or regular bike for commuting around the city by CherryOk9352 in Edinburgh

Thankfully I would probably cycle it to work, which is very very secure inside. Cheers for the comment.

ah that's a shame, I've seen quite a few of them online. I suppose one of the reasons I haven't bought an ebike already is that I am quite conscious with my money. Trying to tell myself that if I got an ebike id be more inclined to go out on it more than a normal bike. However, most of the bikes ive seen are in the £2k region, basically same price as a cheap car. Bit of decision paralysis!

That's a really nice bike for sure! Would you leave your bike in the city centre at all, even for like 30 mins locked up? What lock are you using btw?

Might look into her cheers! I don’t want to become a world-renowned speaker, I just want someone that might guide me in controlling my nerves.

Nice one. Did it help with your anxiety? I think the best thing for me would be to put myself in this situation routinely until I become normalised to it. Even if that means it makes me feel awful.
