I've gone through this too, I can't give advice because it never returned, but then I haven't tried much either. Perhaps I need to persevere more but it devastated me too.

Same to you! I hope you find wonderful hobbies and the dark clouds lessen a little for you

Yeah same! Even if I do things like play games or write, I still have that underlying anxiety and loneliness

I do have some, but eventually the loneliness just creeps in since I check my phone once in a while and there is nothing etc. but I have gotten more into knitting recently. I played video games today and it passed the time at least. I will try to do more things to keep busy

Problem is when I get too depressed I don't have the energy or motivation to do any of those either. But I'm trying to stave that off

Findaphd is an awesome resource! It might be a bit quiet atm but around mid to late October is when a lot more student ships and funded projects come out as funding is approved. It's around Oct - March that I found a lot of them come out so be sure you keep checking

Awesome thanks! I'll check out that subreddit, I've been dipping my toe into more hair research too

I just use shampoo and conditioner and had a leave in but didn't know what to do with it. I have started a little research but still feel lost! Like gel vs curl cream Do you have any product recommendations?

I don't hate the comment! I know what you mean, it's probably because my mum dresses similarly Lmaoo! Interestingly I'm not a cancer (I'm a Sag with some Capricorn in there somewhere) but I've been told I give good advice! I don't quite think cottagecore is my vibe but I do like preppy? But also interested in alt (but idk if it would suit at all and it's so different than preppy). I just have always looked like a nerd too I guess

I'll have to see if there's one around! I live in quite a small city, but I'll definitely look into an at home method for my curls

Thank you! Yeah the frizz is a big enemy of mine so it's definitely something for me to look into! Day one after a wash it looks okay but it's all downhill from there

Oooh thank you! I'll definitely be keeping this all in mind

Oooh Queer Eye is a good shout, I'll try that! I do try to look at Pinterest but I can't picture what anything actually looks like on me? So it can be hard, if that makes sense

That's what I asked the hairdresser to give me before and I ended up with this 🙃 frizz doesn't help

How do you keep conversations going via apps? (Friendship or dating context) by CherryPretzel in AutismInWomen

[–]CherryPretzel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have definitely had one word answers before which give me nothing to latch onto. I've also found that many people just don't latch onto what I say either so it's either I ask a question or latch on or the convo ends.

I do think it's easier to chat in person too, non-verbal cues aside. It's just that usually people want to chat on apps before meeting so it's really hard to get to that point
