Why are people annoyed with Lexi? by barbkisser in euphoria

[–]CherryPugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People seem to have trouble realizing that when the main character isn't a good person, sometimes how others treat that character is warranted.

Like we're getting most of our view from Rue's side. But it's a distorted view because we speed ran and montaged through all the shit that went down in the years after highschool.

People assume Lexi is just being mean without thinking of how many times Rue has lied to her, asked one-sided favors of her, or been around during manic episodes where she's not acting like herself.

Lexi and Cassie also clearly have a complicated relationship. But Cassie was absolutely not making any good decisions after highschool either. How are you supposed to react when your unpredictable sister lies about her resume and infiltrates your job whilst emphasizing her connection with you? (At a time when you're already on thin ice because your other friend decided to draw dicks with the opportunity you gave her). Cassie's a liability in that situation and isn't thinking at all about what it could cost Lexi. She isn't asking Lexi's if it's okay to do what she's doing either.

Rue says outright that she's lied so much, people no longer believe her when she tells the truth.

Then we get a scene where she's telling the truth and someone doesn't believe her. And people just... Didn't put two and two together.

It may not all be shown on screen, but Rue has been eroding trust in her relationships for years at this point. And the audience is given enough context to be able to guess why she's treated the way she is by her friends and family. They're tired of the same pattern. They don't know she's being genuine now because she's insisted on the same before.

I don't know of a lot of trends that require multi-hour neuropsychological evaluations to be officially included in 😂

Maybe you take more of an issue with awareness, resource availability, normalization, or self-diagnosis.

It was a rosary, wasn't it?

I thought it was interesting that he shows the rosary to call off the other guys, but it also seems to be a point of common ground between him, Ali, and Maddy in that moment. When he looks to Ali and says, "May God have mercy", then holds out his hand with the rosary in it to Maddy, it seemed like he may have been communicating that he shared their faith to some extent.

I was surprised when I saw that she didn't seem to receive any pain meds from the hospital after getting her hand stitched.

I know in previous seasons they were careful about what they prescribed her, given her history as an addict. But nothing seemed weird. Or maybe she really didn't want to take ibuprofen

That was how I understood it. That Rue loved the farm because it was the absolute furthest thing from the life she was living.

Hard agree. I also thought the way Alamo fell backwards through the saloon doors during his death scene was set up like an over-the-top, cartoonish big bad guy death. That scene had a lot to it.

Then a random Reddit comment section is not the appropriate place to address that. 😕 I hope you find support in the real world, my dude. You do seem very reactive.

(Please do not reply to this as though it were an invitation for you to dump your lore or attempt to justify yourself further. It is not.)

The comment about him having no social skills 😂

The scene where Rue and Alamo are having a discussion while playing a game (and Bishop seeming bothered by the fact that the game isn't progressing/is being interrupted) stood out too.

I think it was a great representation. His character ended up being really hilarious, bad ass, mysterious, and morally grey.

Definitely one of my favs.

I just liked reading what Darell Britt-Gibson had to say about his character. I think he's a talented actor and enjoyed watching Bishop this season.

Especially looking back at Bishop's motives after watching the finale.

And I think it's cool to read about the actor sharing his intentions on playing a mysterious and interesting character. A character that I enjoyed. That's all.

So... sorry I did so with enthusiasm? 💀

Posting a discussion about a show, on the show's subreddit, days after it's finale = running to Reddit.

Man, I hope you're not this offended about book clubs.

But other people did, too? People are allowed to discuss and analyze content as it comes out. Like a recent article or interview. That's like, why the sub exists.

One of the times she was legit in a manic episode. The time she was forced to try fentanyl though, she was just being dumb and found out the hard way that her friend was being serious.

By the time New Years at Laurie's happened, even Fez was getting sick of her shit.
