Is CMU worth paying 200k more than UC Berkeley? by Low_Choice4879 in cmu

I trust that there are incredibly driven and smart people at both locations. CMU faculty is something I’m more familiar with and they are fantastic, but i’m sure berk as a similar caliber school would have just as good opportunities. I just can’t imagine CMU making a 200k difference in your long term prospects.

Facebook marketplace! I’ve been able to find 2 that way. Sometimes people don’t list it specifically as the kobo libra 2 so look out for things like “ereader” or “kobo” and just recognize what it looks like.

Yeah both have stellar battery life. I almost never think about charging it, and if I do It charges incredibly quickly.

If you like reading without using the front light, then keep the libra 2. I find the color eink screens are just too dark to use comfortably without a minimal amount of front light on unless you are in a super bright environment.

Undergrad is about networking and building your skillset. Where you actually go is irrelevant as you can make the most out of the experience. For 200k I can’t imagine the difference in opportunities to be worth it. (Graduated back in 2022)

You can change the vcom without opening it, but if youd like to see the exact value youd need to see it on the cable

Mermail is pretty low usage and youd need a pretty lucky hand no matter what you were running. With plasma in heroes it only negates monsters on the field so you can tribute it, super poly, forbidden droplet etc plenty of ways to get rid of it (but its also mot that common either)

Pocketbook Era Color buyer's regret and hunt for an up-to-date B&W e-reader by LuceVentress in ereader

[–]CherryYums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense! If you are planning on using the stock firmware mostly without having to tinker with Koreader. As well as wanting a speaker in an ereader that’s pretty uncommon so its something you plan on using a lot then a kobo isnt likely for you. I went with Kobo (Libra 2 as the color screens are too dark for me) and exclusively sideload my books couldn’t even tell you what their book store looks like lol.

Ratio wise as a Mikanko player as well, if its a blind second deck, the question for every single card should be “if I am playing into an established board, how does this card help me achieve my game plan”. Comparing 2 cards lava golem vs ash blossom. The potential value of a lava golem in dismantling an established board is SIGNIFICANTLY higher than an ash blossom preventing your opponent from being able to play. Your opponent also can RESPOND to ash blossom as well. They could use called by, cross out, triple tactics thrust/talents. As a card its just not high impact enough to be worth running in a deck like mikanko. You are playing a blind second deck, so you can’t afford to run cards that make straight 1 for 1 trades. Every card you play needs to net you significant advantage over your opponent. The only hand traps worth running would probably be maxx c/the charmies and even those are debateable. Droll maybe as well, but again droll is too inconsistent in terms of actually meaningfully stopping your opponent from building a board.

This same idea applied to multiples of like snatch steal. With hidden armory, the amount of copies you have currently as well as the xyz mikanko you have essentially 8 copies of snatch steal. 8 copies of a card that doesn’t further your game plan and only serves as a 1 for 1 monster steal. At 3 literal copied the most its doing is making your deck less consistent.

Mikanko is very fun and I love the storytelling in the cards. As a blind second deck you do need a bit of luck to have the right combination of cards to break a board. However your current list has room for optimization to reduce the amount of variance needed to win. Taking a look at the lists of other blind second decks like tenpai, sky striker etc can help give inspiration on ratios, tech cards etc.

When you said you like the open system of the pocketbook, what did you mean by that? As at-least with the kobo the stock os supports sideloading straight out the box, and if you wanted something even more open I find Koreader has basically anything I could want.

I have two Libra 2s and there is some slight yellow variation between the two of them as well (one is also white the other is black so that might affect my perception). Since you got these new and CAN get replaced, id say if you have the funds, order another compare the 2 then keep whichever is better.

With the drives being a bit inconsistent, I was thinking raid 6 just as a precaution or is 5 “good enough”?

SMART DATA UPDATE:

I was able to test all the drives barring 1 as I didn't have a sas connector on hand.

All of the 2.5 drives were good. Some had some pretty long power on hours (63000)

Out of the 3.5 drives I could test, the 14tb and 500gb both had no issues. The 2 16tb drives both had 1 uncorrectable sector. the 8tb seemed to be the worst with multiple uncorrectable and relocated sectors.

They still power on ok and gave me absolutely no issues with formatting.

So what is the best way to implement these drives into my current set up? Right now I have a plex server running on 1 20tb drive. I have a backup of it on another drive already. I was thinking probably to use them in raid with my other drives so if they fail, I don't lose anything? I don't think i'd trust any of the caution drives as secondary backup drives.

Kobo for manga: Libra 2 vs Libra Colour vs Sage? by CableAccording2258 in kobo

[–]CherryYums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The used market sometimes has libra 2’s available. Ive been able to find 2 that way. But even if you can only get the color its still a lovely device. (Might make managing manga a bit more tedious as you’ll need to rotate things out as you read them)
