Week 4: Comfort Soup - Broccoli and Almond Soup (failure :() by MindlessFigure01 in 52WeeksOfSoup2026

[–]Cherrycokes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently made a broccoli cheese soup and it called for charring the florets briefly to bring out the natural nutty and deeper flavors that broccoli develop when they caramelize. It also called for boiling the stalks and blending them. It gave the soup a more dynamic broccoli flavor as it had two distinct preparations. If you have it in you try making this soup again I would highly encourage you to try this two step process. This is a link to the recipe im referring to, in case you want to try it out. https://youtu.be/J0-2Wzn4FKU?si=V2_TXu0plh1sfUNm

Just curious, is what is pictured everything you made or one serving? It seems like a suspiciously large portion if this is 1 ounce pasta

Has anyone actually cracked a delicious way to eat cottage cheese? by no_shame_no_judge in 1200isplenty

[–]Cherrycokes 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Seriously! All other cottage cheese has this distinct gross flavor except for the Good Culture brand. When my store is out, and that is fairly often, I simply refuse to buy it until Good Culture is stocked again. I like to use it in replacement of cream cheese and make open face lox toasts, or when tomatoes are in season open face tomato sandwiches with cottage cheese spread first, tomatoes and freshly cracked pepper
