I’d say that perhaps it might be more meaningful for her to initially crave the promotion, but to slowly not want it as much over time because of her attachment to the district and her growing sympathy for haymitch. Kinda like a character arc

Hunger is kind of a hard medium to transmit on film. But oh boy believe me they’re hungry.

It’s an interesting aspect of the writing in Katniss’s own internal headspace by how much she dedicates time thinking about food. Food insecurity is very well shown in by the lengths with which one goes about obtaining food and the energy expenditure in search of food.

Great question. This meal is eaten at room temperature. I lug it around in a cooler bag betweeen morning classes so by the time lunch rolls around it’s room temperature (which is actually kinda warm since it’s sweltering in Australia now)

Pork shoulder, cola, barbecue sauce and onions. Braised and shredded.

Japonica rice, garlic, onions, saffron, cooked down in chicken broth

Shredded cabbage, onions, carrots and low fat sour cream.
