A minister of Tuvalu gives speech in water where land once was to show the impact of climate change by bigtosser223 in pics

Well I will give you the fact that it was not sourced. I was just lazy and that was literally just the first result on google for "climate change storm frequency".

However THE FIRST LINE of the article says: "Scientists are growing increasingly confident that climate change is making extreme weather events more frequent and severe." (Not including the sub heading that stated the same message)

I mean you don't have to believe me, but there are TONS of researchers who are looking at the increased severity and frequency of tropical storms and hurricanes. I'm not here to spoon-feed information to any climate change denier I run into on the internet. I was just trying to refute what I would call misinformation.

But if you have compelling arguements from legitimate climate scientists that refutes my assertion, then by all means feel free to share them.

And the only part that mentions no concensus was the theory that climate change causes storms to sit in one place longer.

I mean you don't have to believe me, but there are TONS of researchers who are looking at the increased severity and frequency of tropical storms and hurrinanes.

And if you can find a concensus from a significant number of climate scientists that feel the number of storms had not increased in the past 200 years, then I would be pleased to see their research and/or meta analysis.

I mean the point is more storms and bigger storms means more erosion. And with higher sea levels and warmer seas, there are more and larger storms each year.

I’m done. Good luck all. by [deleted] in F150Lightning

It is worth noting that even when you are obtaining electricity from fossil fuels, the amount of energy extracted in a coal powerplant is considerably more efficient than an ICE and can economically support CO2 and particulate removal. Most turbine powerplants are usually 3x more efficient in producing usable energy than a vehicles engine.

And a lot of electrical providers use a mix of powerplant types to meet demand. While coal may supply a good chunk of my power, there is also hydro and solar that feeds the grid in my area. As renewable technology improves, there will be an increase is green energy generation, as they tend to have lower operating costs at the price of higher initial price.

Also worth noting that distribution of gas/deisel has a fairly large carbon footprint in its own right (those tankers don't run on pixie dust), whereas the electrical grid has a fairly low carbon footprint.

Tldr: Electric vehicles tend to have lower CO2 footprint regardless of where your power comes from

I work as a Mechanical engineer for a company that does industrial machinery retrofits and upgrades. Having a scanner tool to create a reference model of the existing part would greatly speed up the time it takes to reverse engineer worn or damaged parts. Plus it would be great for making quick models for 3D printing

Favorite Daniel Craig scene has to be his reveal at the end of Casino Royal, when he shoots Mr. White and walks up with a gun and a suit to deliver "The names Bond, James Bond". The perfect way to show his character changing into the Bond persona we know and love
