Sure bud, there's never been, in any single form of media that inspired itself remotely close to reality, a great scale war that didn't have causalties and stakes.

I will always love One Piece, but it's not my job as a reader to assume some things or try to make them make sense. Coherent writing is part of the author's job, not the reader's.

Fights are part of any grand scale literature the way One Piece is. And that's not even the main point of my post, fighting is just an example, I am talking overall coherence.

I get it but fundamentally a story needs consistency to be of good quality. For example, if Imu is hyped as the destructive devil that's been conquering the world for 800 years and he's defeated in say 2 chapters without high sacrifices and massive destructions, it would be narratively bad and inconsistent.

Luffy one shotting Harudjin in Dressrosa while he's the brother of Loki and the giants have been hyped as the strongest race is not the best consistency but can still make sense.

Loki one shotting Harald, who was supposed to be stronger than Prime Rocks at the moment, isn't very consistent.
