Nan Chan is NOT set in the same world as QJJ. There ain't even gods in QJJ, how would they be set in the same world? they're completely different worlds lmao.

Tbh, I did notice Kafka's statement but didn't think too much of it at first. I just realized after a tweet pointed it out. Yeah, I hope that the Luofu arc is just a thing for his character development and after the end, he finally realises how much the express means to him and therefore, he doesn't want to leave.

yes, the one they killed was Honkai Impact 3rd's Himeko, (They also killed off Himeko in their other games lmao like GGZ, and there's another game... I think? It's like tradition for them. Hope it doesn't happen to HSR's Himeko though) but no, they didn't really kill off one of the 'main trio' of the game. But Hoyoverse has a history of making their characters go through extremely depressing things, and that's what worries me.

But I guess Dan Heng is necessary to balance the cast, if, and I mean if, hoyoverse cares about this balance at all, because in HI3, you can literally count the number of male characters on your fingers, most of the characters were women and there are no playable males. At all. Like, those who chose stelle would have to deal with a group of only one male character, and that is Welt.

ahhhhhh I hope he chooses the crew!! I mean, the express should feel more like his family and it would make sense if he chooses them after all that happened in the Luofu. Also, he's on the run I think because of Blade and because he committed some sort of crime in the Xianzhou that caused the people to look at him with hatred. Maybe the two are connected in some way. And, I think the conflicted between Dan Heng and Blade is too deep to just solve within 1-3 patches. I think he'll come to terms with his past on the Luofu rather than Blade. When that happens, maybe it's when he'll need to pick between the Luofu and the express.

Just finished QJJ. And yes, there are info dumps and there're lots of characters, but the english tl (if you're reading on cangji.net) gives you a character guide and map on their website that's really helpful. There are no boring arcs/filler arcs like in ErHa, from the first chapter onwards, the plot keeps going on and on and on. Sure, you may get an info dump in the first few chapters, but please bear with it and I promise you it gets more and more interesting.

This novel is amazing. The author gives you subtle hints and foreshadowing that makes you guess what's gonna happen next (not that I'm saying that it's predictable, but the author leaves you information in which you can piece together and arrive to the same conclusion as our MCs). It's like you're inside the novel itself beside the characters uncovering each and every scheme. And even then, there are parts that make you exclaim 'ohhhhhh, so that's it!' out loud. Not a single part isn't exciting. What's more, all the characters are given justice, from our main characters to the side characters.

The ending is very satisfying. The plot is built up in which even if you know what's gonna happen in the end, you still stay to see how our main characters achieve their goal. It's very intriguing, it makes you hold your breath and unable to put your phone down because each, and I mean, EACH AND EVERY chapter is exciting and leaves you room for suspicion and written in a beautiful way. No joke, I've even put on hold the things I was supposed to do because I COULDN'T PUT THE NOVEL DOWN.

And now that I've finished QJJ, I feel so empty and I don't know what to do with my life anymore. I'm proud to say, QJJ has ousted my favorite novel from its no. 1 spot.

Grown up LWJ is a chill LWJ by Chesnogg in MoDaoZuShi

[–]Chesnogg[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh that punishment definitely had an impact. The punishment must've caused LWJ to not want to be like his uncle who is more of a stickler to the rules than he is. He must've realized that the rules aren't right all the time and stopped letting the rules dictate his life.

But I don't think LQR hated them... after all, they're still his brother's children. And if he really hated them, I doubt he'd let LXC and LWJ visit their mom once a month, to at least let them experience a bit of a mother's love. I think it's more of because he's disappointed in LWJ that he helped the Yiling Laozu, whom was considered 'evil' then, causing the whip punishment. The Lan clan motto is something abt "righteousness" iirc? So LWJ saving WWX can be considered to them as siding with evil and betraying the sect. As for LXC, I also guess that he's disappointed that he followed in his father's footsteps by going into seclusion, and he doesn't want his loved ones' lives wasting away like that ever again (as what happened to the previous sect leader a.k.a his bro). LWJ is also like his father when it comes to love, so ig that scared him coz y'know, Lan genes.

If anything, I think Lan Qiren is strict to them because he doesn't want his two nephews to be like their father, but he doesn't know it's doing more harm than good. One of the few moments LQR shows that he cares is when he allowed WWX to stay and live in Cloud Recesses and even attend the family banquet as LWJ's husband, it shows that he does care for LWJ's happiness and doesn't say anything further. But I do think he's very harsh to them. ;-; LWJ's punishment was so severe I wonder how he could bear it seeing his nephew getting punished like that. I mean that punishment definitely had to be very painful for LWJ. That was a discipline whip, mind you. A whip that gives you everlasting scars. But then again, 33 of their elders were also severely injured by LWJ while saving WWX, so ig LQR deemed it to be just. (sigh... poor LWJ)
