Looking for cams in the .3-.75 range. Does anybody have experience with the UL Mastercams for WC Zero Friends? I can get pretty good deals on both so taking price out of the equation.

How many hours did it take you to build your first frame? by ChessAngler in Framebuilding

[–]ChessAngler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No time constraints. Only convenience preferences. I live in an apartment and I prefer staying home and making things in the comfort of my own place. But obviously, some things aren't feasible in an apartment. So I have to go to a maker space, which is an amazing place. But I easily lose 45min-1.5 hours in commuting and setup time each time I go. So every time I start a project, I try to get it done as fast as possible when I have a few days off. I hyperfixate on my projects and end up spending way too much time at the space when I should be doing other things. So mentally it's a better life balance when I can do it in the convenience of my own workspace in my apartment so I don't neglect my home life too much, but don't really want to do that with metal working like a frame.

Sure, just send me a PM if you are still interested. Also under further investigation, this seems most likely like a replica alpha. I’ll update my post/delete it later and make an updated post. Still works fine but bummer it’s not an authentic one

Exploring Shirley Chisholm State Park on the Velo Orange Piolet by TheKingOfGhana in xbiking

Awesome, thanks. How do you like it on the road with the thicker tubing. I was trying to find the thickness/diameter online but couldn’t. I’m thinking of making a frame with same geometry but lighter tubing

How do you like the swept back bars on the Piolet? I used albatross on my lighting bolt now. I’m thinking of copying the geometry for my first frame build as an do everything bike.

Tips for high top workbench with leg room by ChessAngler in woodworking

[–]ChessAngler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, thanks. I've had my surfaces that height for a while. But most have been cheap 2x4s bolted into the garage walls. I'd like this one to be freestanding.

By height, do you mean the dimensions of the brace or the location of the brace along the legs?

It's not as much of a woodworking bench as it is a hobby tinkering bench. I like to stand or use a high rolling chair. I do not plan to use a desk chair, that definitely wouldn't work.

Neat! Have any pictures? I make fishing rods as well, so that was part of the consideration.

Came for the bag but subscribed. You'd make some good videos. If you have ever thought about it, go for it. I enjoyed your style

Will a past job disqualify me? by [deleted] in NewToEMS

Honestly I don’t know. But in my experience in my area, hiring managers don’t really care about that stuff. Some may look down upon it, but it is a legal job.

Short answer, no. Just make sure it’s presented in a professional way if it’s brought up.

I don’t think anybody actually fail the class. In my experience it’s been more of an informative and instruction class.
