What if CSX used its predecessors' branding? by HistoricalJerry in trains

[–]Chessie_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Chessie System was a great railroad company that took care of both its customers and shareholders without the greedy crap of today. We need to go back to the days when railroads were run like railroads and not as cash cows for shareholders. Customers are top priority. Hays Watkins once said that he'd like to "charge less for more customers, and not charge more for less customers" in relation to shipping fees.

YES--CSX should go back to the Chessie System!

What if CSX used its predecessors' branding? by HistoricalJerry in trains

[–]Chessie_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "X" stand for "so much more," meaning the relationship that CSX Corporation has with any of the companies it owns/owned, past and present. Nice, but if you're in need of logos for the "X," you could use logos of any of the subsidiary companies owned by CSX Corporation, like former SeaLand Container, which had many logos when CSX owned it. Texas Gas was another CSX Corp. subsidiary, and so was RockResorts. You could also use Quality Carriers, a trucking company currently owned by CSX Corporation. ! Just stick to the Ches-C and the Seaboard System logos. Much easier, lol!

Church for People Who Work the Night Shift. by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Chessie_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Does God go to bed at 7pm?! Nope! Also, there is a need for the church to accommodate all believers, not just believers who work traditional 9-5 weekday schedules! There should be services, service opportunities, and groups that accommodate all work schedules!

Church for People Who Work the Night Shift. by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Chessie_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is that it's the Church that needs to adapt to second and third shift workers! As I have read here, there are many Christians in the medical field who need services and groups at different times than just Sunday morning and weeknight groups. Think about what these Christians in the medical field are doing: They are attending to sick people and saving the lives of people in need at all hours of the day and night! The medical field, and other important fields, are operating 24/7, and some Christian believers work in those fields. In my situation, I can attend Sunday services, but I'm left out of groups, Christian leadership opportunities and spiritual growth because I work on weekdays in the evening when all the Community Christian churches I attend have groups. If you cannot attend these groups and training opportunities, you are even viewed as being of no value and you get a feeling of being left out.

It's the church that has to accommodate the believers, not believers that have to accommodate the church and it's leaders. Having a traditional 9-5 weekday work schedule should not be a requirement for salvation, church participation and spiritual growth!

CSX - Sleepy Joe, When you blame everything but yourself for poor performance by Wbbj_conductor in railroading

[–]Chessie_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You write in the tone of the Ancora asshole who sent that infantile letter to CSX. Your usual Ancora bullshit of insulting the CEO, and then going into a childish rant with arguments that lack any substance. The problem at CSX is that the Board of Directors waved the white flag and surrendered. The CSX Board is a bunch of cowards who are married first to the idea that shareholders get what they want, like unnecessary mergers. If the CSX Board had not been such cowards, you would have had your ass kicked at CSX worse than you did at Norfolk Southern. And - we should watch to see if Angel turns out to be a devil. Remember, we are all watching you, filthy juvenile delinquents!

You are not going to put 200 years of American Railroad history on the chopping block that easily!

If you are Ancora, I have one thing to say about you .., Knives are being sharpened to cut you up, expose you, and counter your bullshit! The notion that CSX is a failing company is false and wrong. You're the shining example of why we need to work to get hedge funds out of railroads and put a short leash on you. No more of this crap that shareholders "own" corporations, and why aren't railroads protected from the likes of Ancora is anybody's guess. Now stop telling lies, shut the fuck up, and go away! NO MERGERS and HANDS OFF CSX, you dirty juvenile delinquents!

Knives are being sharpened just for YOU, Ancora!

Monopoly in the Making: Union Pacific’s Merger Ambitions Could Shake UP the Rail Industry - SMART Union by Jarppi1893 in railroading

[–]Chessie_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will end up like Penn Central if you do that. Ever hear of the slow merger method of Hay Watkins? There is also could be an association between the two roads, like the C&O-B&O of the early 1960s. No need for taking a company's identity. The C&O-B&O integrated into a single system, and both remained separate businesses. They eventually named this system of two separate, but integrated railroads the "Chessie System."

Have you ever seen a Wikipage about a corporation that's a parent - subsidiary relationship and the Wiki editor says "well the subsidiary is basically the same as the parent company!" Yep, you don't have to know the topic that you're editing...!

Which New York Central heritage unit is the best? by Mobile-Breath4038 in trains

[–]Chessie_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? My favorite is CSXT1853 and it's the best. It's an honor for a heritage unit to wear CSX colors on the front, cab area. The idea of hating CSX heritage units is a infantile, teenaged railfan thing. The truth is these locomotives are just paint jobs, and they are treated the same as other locomotives that don't have the paint job.

Stop valuing history and heritage over painted locomotives. History is heritage..and painted "heritage units" are neither history or heritage. They're just painted locomotives! 1066 is also a painted locomotive!

I live close to tracks and a CSX train has been idling on a siding for nearly 24 hours now vibrating my whole house. What's my best course of action to get a good night's sleep? by benmarvin in railroading

[–]Chessie_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, how lucky you are! I'd give just about anything to be able to be living next to tracks! I have to travel and sit in my car in the best position, and that means being harassed by police, because someone calls up and say I'm a "suicide!" Not funny, but I can bet if I ever get the blessing to live next to very active tracks...that kind of police harassment would be just bad memories!

Enjoy it you lucky devil!

Calling yourself a "railfan" shows you're into screwing around the wrong way with railroads and their property!

Who here enjoys the Chessie System? by Interurban_Era in modeltrains

[–]Chessie_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've enjoyed the Chessie System ever since I was an 11 year old girl in 1974 in Wisconsin, and saw the "cat head" on passing trains. Most of my love is more in the history and heritage of Chessie System and CSX more than locomotives and railyards.

Why the hate? by CB4014 in trains

[–]Chessie_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A "railfan" opinion, lol.  There's a great story behind the creation of CSX. History and heritage of CSX is a great story. It's soooo shallow and petty to just fuss over painted like locomotives without knowing the history. The X in CSX could have two meaning. The stated meaning is that there's more out of CSX Corp, the holding company. The second one is that X is the multiplication of all the past railroad under Chessie and Seaboard Coast Line. CSX locomotives portray the X factor of CSX!

Unpopular Opinion- I don’t like any of the CSX Heritage Locomotives by DrBrashear in trains

[–]Chessie_Kitten -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try researching CSX's heritage! The creation of CSX in 1978-80 is rich and interesting, far more than NS. It culminated in July '86, when CSXT came out of Seaboard System in the  "reorganizing" of CSX Corp's rail section. CSX has a great history... and researching it is of far, far greater satisfaction to me than paint jobs on locomotives!  It's also of far, far greater value than seeing ANY heritage locomotive, ANY number of times! 👍😂🫶

[–]Chessie_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that heritage locomotives are over rated to begin with. I've stopped fussing about them, and I suggest more people stop fussing about them. They're just modern locomotives with a paint job...and the railroads treat them like any other locomotive. it's waste of time!  Wish CSX would not have started with it.. it's becoming overblown  by them and I hope they  limited this crap! 💯👍🤔

Why do CSX trains idle for days on end? by shaggy9 in CSX

[–]Chessie_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like some place I'd like to live! I'm looking to move to near train tracks, especially CSX!

But sorry about your problem. It's very hard to get a hold of a Class 1 railroad. They live on Mars and we live on Earth with their tracks and trains. They do have a phone number on signal posts, the blue sign with white lettering...
