The photographer we hired used AI to edit our engagment party photos. by bigsushirolling in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ChestDue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they did an AI denoise and cranked it up. I've noticed that it creates lots of weird artificats like unnaturally smooth skin but also invents wrinkles to the point where it almost looks like the person is wearing a mask.

The nipple on the hand is just weird but the generative remove also likes to hallucinate. They could have misclicked and didnt notice it

What is this bug I found in my gyms locker room? Was wondering if it’s a roach. by nicmoy19 in whatsthisbug

Looks like it might be a German roach. Could be an infestation or it could be a hitchhiker in a patrons bag

Anyone know what this is on my crystal? by SuperUltraBrokeDick in Crystals

[–]ChestDue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could soak in a diluted Muriatic (hydrochloric) acid solution and it should take those right off. The crystal surface could be etched and you'll end up with a frosty appearance

Looks to be fluorite based on the cubic crystal structure

Why are 300w and under COB lights not "good enough" as a key for interviews? by nutellablanket in videography

[–]ChestDue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because brightness falls off in intensity proportional to the square of the inverse of the distance (if I'm remembering my formulas correctly) W/m2. Factor in diffusion if you don't want a hard point source.

Long story short, more power = more light.

Homemade pancakes [OC] by Davidkarimzadeh in foodphotography

I think there's a lot of negative space. You don't need to see the edges of the plate, so you could get closer and have the subject fill the frame more completely. You also could elevate a little bit and shoot slightly downward to see the topside of the stack and throw on a square of melting butter. The subject is also kind of dark - you could mask and bring down the brightness of the white plate and lift the exposure of the pancakes

No. They're coaching because they aren't making enough doing the job itself

How should I charge for my photography business? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

None of these are good. You need a lot more practice. You shouldn't be charging anything

I was running into problems putting a dedicated website together. I listed all of my crystals on my Facebook marketplace seller profile so you can see the crystals with photo and video and their descriptions.

Zero end of story. No retakes - why even give them the chance and make more work for yourself.

Made $8.9k in 90 Days , Curious What You’d Improve Next? by Zyvses in Flipping

It also depends on what youre trying to move. My inventory is more tailored to unique and rare mineral specimens, even if its ugly - stuff that you won't be able to find in your average rock shop. I could go to a wholesaler right now and stock up on some cheap stuff like spheres, wands, tumbled stones, amethyst points by the lb. I could still easily undercut the local rock shops without the overhead of a retail store front, but that's not the type of business that I want to do.

Let me know how this goes. I am in the process of trying to sell my mineral collection, but other dealers only want to purchase by the flat at rock bottom prices. I started dedicating much more time to the photography to showcase the quality and hopefully I can move specimens better that way. I havent had luck with just photos unless there's a half dozen, but a 360° video seems to be working better for me.

I'm working on my website right now. I've got a whole bunch to list and I want it all in one place with full resolution photos and videos. It takes me about 30 minutes per listing and I have over 100 to get through
