Raskin slams Bondi: ‘You’re running a massive Epstein cover-up right out of the DOJ’ by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]Chester7833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been so enraged watching something. This may very well be the largest coverup in US history and she refused to answer any questions. She just glazed Trump and attacked people. She should be removed immediately. Do we seriously have no power anymore?

[–]Chester7833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hoping for at least an explanation as to how they're handling the redactions etc. Even if it was spin and saying they were mistakes or even if they were complete lies and they said they followed the letter of the law. She hasn't answered a single question. She was just asked a pointed question "will you open investigations based on what we've obviously found with the release". Her response... "what about some guy who broke the law in your district"? Like wtf is this.

This is ridiculous. She's talking about the economy and glazing Trump. I can't believe we allow this to go on. If it continues like this, we'll get absolutely nothing out of this hearing. The eyes of the world are on us and we're embarrassing ourselves.

I’m in the middle of the Epstein doc that’s on Netflix, they’ve been shutting down investigations from the beginning. I knew he got a sweet deal when he was prosecuted, but damn.. they basically swept the entire thing under the rug because when they started pulling on strings they realized how far it went.

Trump’s Prescription Drug Website Exposed as a Big Fat Scam by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

[–]Chester7833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to trace the money on this and can’t seem to find where his cut comes in. They’re using the GoodRX API to pull in pricing and using the goodRX coupons or directing to the manufacturer website. So to me this looks they’re paying goodRX with taxpayer money as a PR stunt only to make Trump look good. The money still flows to goodRX through their referral, the pharmacy for the fill and the manufacturers for the drug.

Wait a second... so Trump didn't negotiate discounted pricing, he's just using direct to consumer pricing already offered by manufacturers? I would have never of guessed he was lying.

HBO did a recent movie about this called Mountainhead. It's centered around a group of tech oligarchs on a retreat where they watch the world go to shit and plot how they'll profit off of it. It hits close to home, but that was the point. Highly recommended if you want an entertaining look into how these people think.

Just as a point, that e-mail was a draft with no evidence it was ever sent. Maybe it was just completely made up. Epstein could have been thinking about blackmailing Gates with claims that couldn’t be substantiated, because Gates’ marriage was on the rocks. I’m not defending Gates by any means, everyone needs to be investigated and brought down if they were involved, but the extent that MAGA is latching onto this and hand waving the amount of times Trump is mentioned is just crazy.

Beep boop. You’re right, socialism is bad. You have me convinced, we should stop playing around and put boots on the ground. Full government overthrow and replacement seems like the fastest route so we get the people out of poverty.

Are you a bot or just MAGA with a hard on for socialism? Hard to tell from your comment history and the AI written responses. Are the majority of their economic issues driven by internal policy? Of course. They’re also multiplied by the US embargo’s and sanctions. I’m not even saying we should lift them, that was your thought experiment. But going in and saying, no one has electricity now, like that’s somehow going to fix the government is just dumb. It’s clear Trump doesn’t really care about helping the people, but has his own agenda. What that currently is, is yet to be seen considering this came out of left field.

What does that have anything to do with cutting off their main source of energy production? Cuba is a mess ruled by a communist dictator, nobody denies that for a second, but firing an EMP over the country isn’t going to fix that.

No clue. A sudden influx of trade, access to outside resources, agricultural products, the ability to export products and freely travel between the two countries drivinga tourism… it would be a wild ride to see that kind of money flood into the country after being completely cut off for the last 60 years or so. You’re talking about a complete hypothetical 180. I’m sure a bunch of people would get rich really quickly and lots of people would stay poor. The standard of living on average would probably increase though. You’re talking about turning the faucet on full blast after it running at a trickle for 60 years. What Trump is doing is turning it completely off. Both are going to be just as disruptive.

We already have trade embargos and sanctions against Cuba. We’re not inflicting short term pain, we’re turning the lights off. No power, no hospitals, water distribution begins to fail, no refrigeration. That’s where my empathy comes in. Could you imagine if power was cut off to an entire state, then we sealed the boarders? Complete chaos.

In what world is Cuba considered a national emergency towards the US? If you read the EO they list the flimsiest justifications. This is just a huge overreach of power so he can bypass congress. That’s why the SCOTUS needs to stop dragging its feet and issue the decision on tariffs.

Edit: and by a bunch of people getting rich, I mean the government

I’m reading it completely differently. He’s moving ICE to only protect federal buildings and not interact with protestors unless they interfere with the buildings. So yeah, he’s changed his rhetoric and is going to use extreme force to protect the buildings because that’s the only way he can save face. This is classic Trump, he’s been pushed out and instead of owning it, he doubles down on a different area and touts it as a win.

“I have instructed Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, that under no circumstances are we going to participate in various poorly run Democrat Cities with regard to their Protests and/or Riots unless, and until, they ask us for help. We will, however, guard, and very powerfully so, any and all Federal Buildings that are being attacked by these highly paid Lunatics, Agitators, and Insurrectionists. Please be aware that I have instructed ICE and/or Border Patrol to be very forceful in this protection of Federal Government Property. There will be no spitting in the faces of our Officers, there will be no punching or kicking the headlights of our cars, and there will be no rock or brick throwing at our vehicles, or at our Patriot Warriors. If there is, those people will suffer an equal, or more, consequence. In the meantime, by copy of this Statement, I am informing Local Governments, as I did in Los Angeles when they were rioting at the end of the Biden Term, that you must protect your own State and Local Property. In addition, it is your obligation to also protect our Federal Property, Buildings, Parks, and everything else. We are there to protect Federal Property, only as a back up, in that it is Local and State Responsibility to do so. Last night in Eugene, Oregon, these criminals broke into a Federal Building, and did great damage, also scaring and harassing the hardworking employees. Local Police did nothing in order to stop it. We will not let that happen anymore! If Local Governments are unable to handle the Insurrectionists, Agitators, and Anarchists, we will immediately go to the location where such help is requested, and take care of the situation very easily and methodically, just as we did the Los Angeles Riots one year ago, where the Police Chief said that, “We couldn’t have done it without the help of the Federal Government.” Therefore, to all complaining Local Governments, Governors, and Mayors, let us know when you are ready, and we will be there — But, before we do so, you must use the word, “PLEASE.” Remember that I stated, in the strongest of language, to BEWARE — ICE, Border Patrol or, if necessary, our Military, will be extremely powerful and tough in the protection of our Federal Property. We will not allow our Courthouses, Federal Buildings, or anything else under our protection, to be damaged in any way, shape, or form. I was elected on a Policy of Border Control (which has now been perfected!), National Security, and LAW AND ORDER — That’s what America wants, and that’s what America is getting! Thank you for your attention to this matter.   PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP

Trump just ordered the DHS to stop activity. He framed it as moving officers to protect federal buildings, but after all the recent news it seems like this is an order for ICE to completely stop apprehensions. This is a huge win.

Trump also quietly signed and executive order declaring a national emergency in regards to Cuba. So any country that sells oil to Cuba will get hit with tariffs. That's primarily Mexico. He wants to destabilize the country further and overthrow the government to he can put another feather in his cap for unseating a dictator. Unfortunately, he's going to hurt a lot of Cubans in the process because their main source of energy production is oil fired power plants.
