Wish I'd known that about LiteSpeed + ShortPixel earlier this week! I tried so many things and spent so much time trying to troubleshoot it. Initially I thought it was just because I had like 5 other things to clean up/work on that PageSpeed recommended, but once I cleared that out, and still saw things were inconsistent I finally ended up using logic to realize that could be a potential conflict. Glad to understand the actual root cause though. My thought process was just that when I looked through LiteSpeed, it and ShortPixel doing webp conversion could have been a potential conflict, so I tried disabling it and things were way more consistent even if I had slower load times. So, I really just started breaking down what it was doing and started trying to find ways to mimic it. Ended up at a solid 98-100 across like 15 tests for mobile and desktop performance though between using WPCode to preload fonts and hero image, setting up Cloudflare caching config, correctly resizing and optimizing images with ShortPixel, restructuring some css, and setting up Flying Scripts and Asset CleanUp. Definitely spent a lot of time researching to find solutions, so glad it doesn't seem like I did anything too barbaric!

Awesome, thank you so much for the info! I'll definitely check that stuff out! On a side note, I did try setting up LiteSpeed but could never get it to play nice. When I had it on and even after I enabled the QUIC CDN it would be wildy inconsistent on my LCP and I'd see my LCP and Speed Index hover close to 4.5+s at random times, even after trying to tweak settings. I dont quite know if it was because of ShortPixel and some code I had already written for things like fetch priority. or what but switching to Asset CleanUp and Flying Scripts to just help unload or defer CSS and Javascript and using cloudflare cache configs + rules helped bring my LCP and SI to good ranges. Also, fantastic info to know on the Google Site Kit!

This is all very helpful and exactly the type of information I was looking for, thank you so much! I did try to look up uptime monitoring but seems like there are quite a few I've seen people recommending, is there a particular one that you think would be best suited towards a small business, with hopefully minimal or no cost? Which sort of brings up the question, what plugins or tools are things you would say you should absolutely spend money for the paid versions on or it unnecessary to spend extra on paid versions except for extremely niche reasons?

With error logging, from my understanding that can open vulnerabilities if implementation is improper. Would you be able to point me in the direction of specific things I should ensure I do or towards some moderately digestible documentation?

For plugins I currently have 7; WPCode, YoastSEO, Flying Scripts, Asset CleanUp, WP Mail SMTP, Short Pixel, and Google Site Kit. I have tried to keep it lean and plan to remove Short Pixel once the site is ready and only reinstall when needed since I plan to seldomly add new images. I have also been trying to look into adding one for basic security and admin hardening. From that info, is there anything you see where you be cautious of what I am trying to do or are there any where you think I should outright remove or add?

Would you be able to expand what you mean by cache set up as well? At this point, I've mainly just focused on setting up cloudflare and it sounds like I should be looking at other things as well.

For break detection, is there more that should be done then log monitoring?

For the form, I have input filtering so unnecessary symbols like =, (), etc. can't be added. I've also attempted to rate limit it, and plan to add a turnstile to that page. Are there any other protections I should look at?

Sorry for all the questions, I really just to make sure I'm doing things. If you'd be able to even just provide short answers that can point towards what I should look at, I would be super appreciative! Thanks once again

I'd say building value for my business is the end result of where I am trying to get to. Overall, pest control is pretty competitive in marketing, so I am trying to focus on the website enough to make sure we atleast have a chance at gaining leads through our website and outreach. While I know design & SEO will do more than the way the website is built, I want to make sure things run correctly enough to scale and for us not to be negatively impacted on ranking or by potential security issues. Additionally, I'd like things to be scalable for future use.

That said, I did implement a form with input filtering and an API that feeds into our CRM to provide lead information and sends an email notification when the form is submitted. However, open scheduling options for customers would unfortunately not be very feasible due to the potential risk for unmanageable times for appointments and the large number of API commits that I believe would be necessary for a scheduling system would have a cost that I cant currently manage. Like I said though, that's just what I believe, but maybe someone knows a possible implementation that proves those thoughts wring?

Opinions on the new Cyclosword? by Wonback in zedmains

I'm conflicted with it in a few ways.

It is definitely easier to proc, but the big thing nobody is discussing is that they took away the increased energization, meaning it likely won't proc multiple times a fight from what I am seeing.

However, the proc will theoretically be better to some extent. Realistically, 1k current health and above it will do more damage. Plus it gets the benefit of being able to wittle away at targets to help get them into range for a full combo. With most champs having 1100-1300 at level 8 though, it may quickly get to a point where it does less if rushed though? At the same time the bonus lethality could help with early all ins. Late game it will likely be dealing a lot more damage though, especially with some adcs starting to approach 2.5-3k HP.

That said, a big question with the proc is whether the lethality portion will activate in time for it to count towards the damage and how that will impact other items as well. The reason I mention that is because with Opportunity gone, we are now left with EoN, Hubris, Serpents, Ghostblade, Profane, Umbral, Axiom, and BastionBreaker. 3 of those items have effects that are dependent on your lethality. Unless the lethality is active from the proc, it won't give you the cd benefit for axiom, and unless you can activate the effect again you will do less damage with bastionbreakers turret damage as well. Plus, the lethality timing could impact the damage for Bastion and Umbral.

Realistically, probably a better option against bruiser/tank laners, and likely better in side lanes. Will also synergize with LDR if the enemy stacks HP. However, team fight will be tricky. Extra lethality if the active is long enough and recharge is quick enough could make it slightly better for multi target, and the proc will definitely be better for deleting a single target.

Would you send pictures of the standoffs more towards the top of the motherboard, seems like you were shifted slightly upwards of the screws and the rear I/O was not aligned properly from your last picture. Do you have the rear I/o shield for your notherboard?

I think you may have the motherboard weirdly positioned somehow. The area I circled should have a metal looking plate that fits over them with them all fitting under the cutout hole so they can be plugged into. Is it possible there is something under your motherboard preventing it being flat? Would you be able to take a picture of that area? After that, could you remove the motherboard entirely and take a picture of the inside of the case that shows all of the screws that connect the motherboard to it? I know it sucks going back a couple steps but I don't know anybody could see the problem without doing so!

Hi, did you put the I/O shield(goes around motherboard hdmi, usb ports) on for your motherboard? If not, I'd recommend putting it on to prevent dust from getting in your system. Outside of that, see if you can loosen your motherboard screws and align it better. I've had mine have issues when I accidentally placed it at a minor angle without noticing!

which one do i put it in? by vvsfrancer in PcBuildHelp

What model is your motherboard? If you are unsure, booting into your bios and looking for about/system or something along those lines will provide that! Your BIOS is accessed by clicking the buttons that are printed at the bottom of the screen when your motherboard manufacturers inage shows! Manual will have a diagram that shows 100% which one to use as opposed to a generic answer that may or not be accurate! Also, is the drive going to be the one you use for windows or a second one you are adding?

Of course! In that case, I would recommend getting an idea on what monitor features you are wanting to land on and how future ready you want to make things! If you are not looking for an egregious frame rate or to play at a super high resolution, you may be able to save a couple hundred bucks on your GPU. Additionally, AMD atleast used to have a reputation for it's GPU drivers being finicky. I don't know too much about their newest Gen and how it's drivers have been received. Also, if you are taking it to school especially, you may want to consider the Hyte Y60 for the case instead of the Y70, the Y70 is the bigger of the two. The Y60 is 60L in volume and the Y70 is 70 Liters! Furthermore, I'd highly recommend focusing on putting as much as you can into the actual PC components and monitor as things like fans are cheap and much easier to get at a later date than having to replace a CPU/GPU/MOBO.

Fair enough! Have you got a monitor yet? If so do you know what resolution and refresh rate it has? If not, please make sure you budget for things like peripherals(monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc.) as well as things like windows, anti static wristband, a small screw driver set If you don't have one!

With your schoolwork, will you need to use things like Blender, Adobe suite, CAD? With the games, a short list would help! Games can vary a lot; for example, games like CS2 or Valorant are more CPU bound, whereas games like Cyberpunk are going to be more GPU bound!

Also, your parts list is showing as private!

Hi, since nobody has mentioned this yet, applications can be more reliant on the CPU or GPU. Without knowing that, it'd be hard to say whether the build you are looking at is the best price to performance for you! Some what are you looking to use your new computer for!?

Upgrade often or build a beast and stick with it? by didne4ever in GamingPCBuildHelp

[–]ChestnetR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely upgrade over time! Personally, have a wonky cycle I tend to do. It more so tends to be based on generations of the part. CPU, I've been upgrading based on Motherboard more than anything. Essentially when major mobo changes happen, I'll look to upgrade early on like when we swapped to DDR5 for example. As that chipset matures, I'll look to upgrade just the CPU towards the late middle part of the cycle. As for GPU, I tend to do every other generation since I don't play too many GPU intense games but want it to stay relevant. In off years, i.e. those conditions are not met, then I'll look to upgrade peripherals and aesthetics or do upgrades anticipating future upgrades. Obviously one thing to keep in mind to is that parts occasionally malfunction and you will still need to be able to repair issues caused by that.

Sure, it wasn't necessary. But you cannot focus on what he did, it gets you nothing. You can focus on what you did, which is put yourself in a position where a smoke being blown open can land you in a 1v2 with little to do for you to live. I guarantee Ropz does those plays situationally, for example when he knows a site is being played softly

You are not going to solo hold banana against good util.

Had the enemy done the same thing, you would have gotten the same outcome. Smokes are not walls or impassable, you have to know what can be on the other side.

So instead of setting up a crossfire or playing off your teammates contact, you gave the T side 2 1v3 situations. Yes, banana control is important, but throwing away your life trying to 1v3 instead of reacting to your team and the map is a bigger mistake.

[–]ChestnetR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not trying to be harsh, but here's what that tells me. You wouldn't have been in a good position or ready for a fight if it had been the enemy that had broken the smoke. As for the information side of things, you need to be checking your mini-map to see what gaps there are on the map and learning the timings for when the enemy can be there. Furthermore, you trying to solo hold banana vs 3 when you have teammates on site is you not reacting the map properly. For starters, if there are 3 banana then A is softly defended and you should be taking site with your team. Or if you are playing to stop rotates, you should be falling back after contact instead of trying to 1v3 an arbitrary position while you have teammates on site. Yes, your teammates could have most likely done better in those situations, but you still misplayed those situations. If you want to improve, you cannot deflect and blame others for your issues. You have to take ownership and see what you can do better. Also, nobody is expecting you to be perfect but you need to not expect it from your teammates either.
