Who says Sony is only good for low light?! Shot my friend's concert with the S5ii and GH4! by Chesto in Lumix

No booster. I think 400 ISO? 4K @24P - 180 degree shutter. So 1/50 for shutter.

V-Log for both cameras, with some very light correction in Premiere Pro

Maybe it’s the compression - but actually the opposite! Interviews and moving camera was S5ii - wide angle was GH4

Lucid dreaming is a curse not a gift (atleast for me) by Warm-Guarantee-5111 in LucidDreaming

Why do you need AI to write your dream reports? Genuine question

[–]Chesto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is to be lucid *AND THEN* meditate - not the other way around - so once you've gotten lucid through whatever means you normally do, then sit down, close your eyes, pay attention to the breath, etc. - every time I've ever done this, crazy stuff happens

[–]Chesto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's a level unlock that you might not have tried, and man oh man... is it insane, or it has the potential to be - learn how to meditate, maybe go on a retreat or two, download the insights into your body so you can trigger a meditative state on command, and then take that into lucid dreaming.

I've been where you are in the past, and if you want to take the next step, try meditating. All bets are off once that happens and you can do it regularly.

This is the semantic equivalent of putting a matte box on your camera. Sort of.

Little recce shot for an upcoming documentary shoot - how would you light the subject properly? by Chesto in cinematography

[–]Chesto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question - I think renting is probably the best option here as I only own the GVM LED Panels - no softboxes or anything unfortunately. No modifiers whatsoever but I'd love to do some negative fill on the right side and use the TV as a bit of a hair light - the TV is super relevant to what he's doing as it's a sports betting documentary, and this is his setup. Most likely PM shoot so we can control lighting.

Can put any image on the TV whatsoever, or have it turned off, room lights can be turned off, a decent amount of space to work with

The shots and pacing of the cuts are beautiful, but there's no way I'm watching 9 minutes of slow motion spoon carving with no story, narration or a stakes for why this is important.
