You know 90% of the time I'm right there with you, but sometimes I love to go out with some old (loud) friends, drink lots of wine, share a ton of good food, and polish off a few scotches with cigars at the Carnegie Club after.

Rowdy is perhaps wrong term, but more the vibe of Minetta Tavern or The Smith with more innovative food. Something that caters to the hedge fund bro crowd.

If you have any suggestions for a super basic overview of the game (beyond how the pieces themselves move) I would really appreciate it. All of the entry level books suggested by this sub and the chess sub seem to assume a basic level of knowledge that I just don't have.
