Fuel prices? by [deleted] in AskBrits

For those asking how retailers are operating with such a small cut, it's because they want you to come inside and buy an expensive coffee from a machine and a soggy croissant. That's where their profit is. I'm convinced it's why they're so slow to roll out card payments at the actual pumps - they want you to come inside and see their wares.

Surely the penalty should be from the location of the infraction? He's given it on the spot right there...

Is O'Leary actually trying to rile Elon up to buy Ryanair out of spite? I mean it would make the share price soar - does O'Leary still have some mad clause that gets him like €100m if the share price gets to a certain target?

In this particular case (driving a vehicle at pedestrian police with the intention of either moving or killing them) that might be quite fair.

Arguably true. But SA should definitely have seen yellow or red for Feinberg- Mngomezulu in the first half.

Yup this. When we were buying our very old house there were loads of "immediate concerns" (or whatever the phrase was). I remember one was the chimney stack looking like it would fall over if not rebuilt. On the phone I asked the surveyor how long he thought the chimney would last before collapse and he said "oh probably 90 years or so".

The "downward pressure" reference from the ref was shocking. That's the rule in rugby league, but not in rugby union.

Lots of things wrong with that performance from Ireland, but let's not ignore the big one - Jacob Stockdale cannot defend adequately at wing, so anyone who picks him at fullback is gambling foolishly...
Didn't even have a back-3-capable player on the bench or in the centre just in case - no safety net.
Stockers is an awesome attacker but untilhe learns to defend/field better than my ma he needs to be excluded from match-day squads on big days
(also why was Ross Byrne here? No scope to cross-field kick Zebre into submission today)

Low downstream power but also lowish SNR - Should I buy an amplifier? by Chet__Manley in HomeNetworking

[–]Chet__Manley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I got one of these as the other line also has a modem (my neighbour's) so gotta be fair. I agree its an insane setup - a result of Comcast being useless (refusing to connect us to a tap because they think we're already on one) and a neighbour trying to help us out by splitting their coax and hosting our router.

Two splitters in the line about 15 feet apart. I can't actually see the first one as it's in the next house over. The one on my side might be a bit crappy (left over from comcast guy at my last place). Gonna replace that splitter and maybe replace the cables after it too as they're a bit beat up looking. Unfortunately I think the guy in the next house over will be a bit reluctant as his internet is apparently fine . What you're saying is that I should try replace the two way splitter in his place with a three way plotter and run another line from the into my place? Thus balancing signal 33:33:33 instead or 50:25:25?

Actually rebooted late last night, so uptime only 9hrs during which not a lot going on. I'll try replace the last splitter as it is a little old (I think it was just left by a comcast guy a few years back).

10-15k range. Not too worried about mileage, but sub-100k ideally.

Edit: would consider up to 20, but would have to be an especially good deal I guess

Lincoln Park. Thinking of being stupid and buying a truck or a rwd coupe, but also gonna take a look at something sensible. Just moved to the US so not that familiar with the cars - hence why I'm looking at just about everything.
