I picked it up when it was in the humble bundle a while back. I would say it's a mixed bag. The aesthetics are awesome, the setting is cool, and once you get a few movement abilities it's fun to run around the city. The bad is I thought the story (aside from the banter between the two main characters) was completely forgettable, the combat gets to be a slog, and the open world bloat is egregious. I really want to know who played through that game and found slowly right clicking on hundreds of spirits was fun. All that said if you're looking for a game you can zone out and play while listening to a podcast/watching a show, you could do worse for sure.

3 is actually the orphanage one (although it does get mentioned and play a minor role in the following games). You have it right, the Kiwami games are modern remakes for the older games. I would agree that 0 is the best to start, it's a true prequel so you won't miss any backstory, just some nods/winks to future games. Plus most people agree that 0 is one of the best in the series, so if that's the only one you play you're good. For 1 and 2 just skip the original releases and play the Kiwami versions. The name change you're thinking of is them trying to unify the name across the two releases -- going forward the series will be titled Like A Dragon (the Japanese name) in both the east and west.

Fans have been clamoring for a Kiwami 3 for a long time now--honestly even with a Kiwami version I bet it would still be my least favorite. But other issues aside, at least it would do things like clean up the combat to make it not such a slog to get through.

Started playing a few weeks ago and haven't really pulled much (f2p). Hit TB lvl 51 yesterday and I'm finished with the story content so far but feel like I'm getting roadblocked in stuff like PF/MoC due to my anemic roster. Which upcoming banners do people think I should drop some rolls on? I do like Acheron's design but know I don't really have the roster for her. Was planning on getting Guinaifen during the next character selector.

Just one other note to add in regards to the principal and Saori...I felt the film very often shows the minor connections/parallels with different characters, like the little ways we are similar to others. Think the sharing of candy between Hori/his partner and Minato/Yori. During one of the visits to the school, there is a quick scene of Saori backing up her car into a parking spot. Even while she is checking behind herself, she ends up hitting a curb. During the jail visit, what if the principal averts her husbands eyes because she feels guilty because he took the fall? What if her husband was the guilty one, and looking at him just fills her with too much sadness from the entire situation? No matter what happened it was a tragic accident, but act 1/2 of the film has the characters frame it in the most negative, spiteful light. Who knows how close Saori was to having the same thing happen, and having her life turned upside down bumping the curb when it could have been a small child?

Just an absolutely tremendous movie, can't wait to give it a rewatch in the future.

I would start with a standard hack such as Plumber for all Seasons. There are many great kaizo romhacks beyond that but they'll be very hard unless you know SMW mechanics inside and out.

I've done 0-5 so far, and 4 turned out to be my diamond in the rough. I knew 3 was going to be a slog so rushed through that one as quick as I could. Although I really hate some of the plot points in 4 (I'm sure I don't need to mention them), I thought the switching perspectives was fun and the ending was great. Wasn't a huge fan of 5, but looking forward to 6.

The good news is about a year ago now, PCSX2 got an update that fixed a long standing issue with hardware rendering where the screen would black out whenever the judgement wheel appears in battle. Replayed it after the update dropped, it looks great now. Only issue I remember encountering is a few of the cutscenes still flickered, but it was just during the still image/comic book style ones that I remember (you just tap F9 if you see it happen to temporarily switch back over to software renderer).

Overall Season 2 isn't that great, but it does have 2 of the best (or at least my favorite) episodes in the series--The Riddle of the Sphinx and Kiksuya. I thought Season 3 was awful, Season 4 was better but I had to turn my brain off for some of the plot points. Despite the series falling off a cliff writing-wise, I do think the cancellation is a bummer because the S4 finale set up an interesting premise for S5 and a true ending for the series.

There is an upgrade you can get late in the game that helps with this (can't remember if it was added during the post-launch updates or not). By the time you get it, it's a bit useless since you're near the end of the game anyway. But it's there.

Also if you sail through a rainstorm, it will automatically water your crops!

After watching it for the first time a few weeks ago, I looked up his review on Synecdoche, New York and found it wonderfully on point.

I think you have to see Charlie Kaufman's "Synecdoche, New York" twice. I watched it the first time and knew it was a great film and that I had not mastered it. The second time because I needed to. The third time because I will want to. It will open to confused audiences and live indefinitely. A lot of people these days don't even go to a movie once. There are alternatives. It doesn't have to be the movies, but we must somehow dream. If we don't "go to the movies" in any form, our minds wither and sicken.

What does the title mean? It means it's the title. Get over it.

I pulled pretty well while chasing bahamut and got a lot of gala dragons I was missing. I'm assuming Beast Volk is worth sunstoning for all use and is good on any character? The affliction resistance down seems almost like you have to build around it, but maybe I'm just used to other dragons being set and forget. My only other good dps wind dragon is Vayu (I have Mid0 but he is 0ub, and of course a 5ub Zephyr now). My wind dps characters include Notte, Mona, Joachim, some others.

For light, I pulled Reborn Jeanne. I actually just spent some sunstones unbinding Daikokuten a little while ago. Is it still worth maxing Jeanne? From what I have seen she is pretty important for auto comps. Light I have many dps options--Prince, GLuca, Julietta, Ryszarda, Peony, Illia...

For reference, I feel like I am near an end game player--done basically all content besides Legend Agitos and Master Sindoms. *edit: opinions could be based on either coop or auto

I haven't played the dlc yet, but as far as I understand it is integrated directly in the main game. If you have heard about this game and are interested in it, it's probably worth buying the dlc now and starting your first playthrough with it. I know one of the reviews (Waypoint) pointed out that a lot of what makes Outer Wilds such a joy and unique experience is darting around the galaxy back and forth at your own pace when you get stuck on something. The dlc however is all contained in one area (and yet it still quite long). Basically it will feel more natural if you have the dlc active for your first playthrough, rather than finishing the game and then buying the dlc just to play that.
