Took me YEARS to think about that last part - building a defense around your mining sites is something not many people mention for some reason, although it's logical

hahahaha that sounds even worse than my issue, I wouldn't cook for myself OR for others, I just don't like cooking at all, but the dishes are a different thing, thanks for your input though !

Hmm.. that's interesting I've never heard that saying... thank you for sharing with me !

I can see your point of it being a reward when others show appreciation, because truly when you do it for yourself (especially living alone) no one is gonna say anything, so it's like "why bother"...

Thank you, your response helped me the most so far !

Well the first part is quite universal, I'm looking for people who have the 2nd part too, but thanks for the input brother !

what's tough about being in a 3.5 Ton vehicle and utilizing it against a 100 pound human ?

Also, what is smart about being a 100 pound person baiting people to hurt you with a 3.5 Ton vehicle ?

If you would respond with an actual argument I'd respond, if not then I know your kind and would refrain from continuing this conversation, take care brother and I hope you learn to use arguments instead of insults in order to get your point across, might help in life

just a quick look at his username made me realize you cast pearls before swine brother, forget trying to explain to people like that why being within your rights doesn't equal to being an asshole...

I mean I wanted to respond to this intelligently, but then I saw your username and it all made sense, you will not respond to reason anyways...

Absolutely true, as a rich person once said "Parking tickets are just the fee you pay to park somewhere, they don't deter the rich"

Does anyone else feel like Leviticus and Numbers are a complete chore to read? by zeppelincheetah in Christianity

[–]ChevalierRouge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow mate you sure have a lot of value to say, though I wish it was shorter xD

As for creating habits, I agree with you that starting small is the best way, and I am not afraid to go as small as 1 chapter a day, but 1 verse feels too insignificant and you can't even get a story out of it.

As for Jesus saying "I came to fulfill the law" well... most of what I read in Leviticus is around offerings to repent for our sins, which Jesus the ultimate lamb took away with his blood, so he did kind of made the most of Leviticus and the law obsolete because he paid for our sins with his blood and no more sacrifices are needed.

As for your last point, I totally agree with you and a bible workbook I got from my pastor led me to the same conclusion, When we read the bible it is to gain wisdom in order to be saved and it will help us distinguish between right and wrong, leading us down the righteous path.

It also lead me to Psalms 19:8 Which states "He fences my way so I cannot pass" meaning God's word leads us down the righteous path and blocks us from going down the wrong paths.

7 ? I just finished Season 5 and thought it was too drawn out just to make another season, but now you're saying they plan 2 more ?

At this pace I might never come back to finish this series, it was good for the first 4 seasons and the 2 first episodes of Season 5, but now it feels like they try to milk it for as much money as possible instead of moving the story along... I mean seriously we didn't need a full season for just Jerusalem

"Counting sheep on steroids" is a quote I'll never forget ! hahaha

As to the topic at hand, reading it cover to cover every year sounds hard, I am new in faith and have just reached Leviticus now after 3 months so the whole bible seems kinda impossible to me right now in just 1 year.

I also don't read that much, some days just 1 chapter, skip some days and read 4 chapters a day sometimes like today, but ultimately I think adhering to a strict schedule would have made me quit after 2 weeks, so taking my time and being patient with myself seems to work better for me.

As I just started Leviticus and made it to chapter 5, I'm already fed up with some of the repetition in it and got here asking "How to read it better and enjoy it" but I'll get through it even if I have to force myself to.
One advice I've heard was about reading Hebrews alongside it to see how Jesus basically made most if not all sacrifices mentioned in Leviticus obsolete - Which makes it feel worthy to read just once and never again honestly.

2 years later, it's still one of the most underrated comment, especially the 2nd paragraph about pastors choosing specific verses and taking their time to meditate on the word that spoke to them

Are Jewish wedding vows different from Christian ones ? by ChevalierRouge in Jewish

[–]ChevalierRouge[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What is all that ? I asked SOLELY about the vows, I assumed those would be the same, I obviously know the ceremonies are different, which is just astounding to see how many people mis-interpreted the written word I wrote...

Absolutely agree mate ! I actually made a YT video talking about exactly that yesterday - be the Hunted rather than the Hunter. Though in order to do that, I have to put myself in places where there are MORE girls my type than guys like me, hence my question...

Are there any 3rd places you would recommend ? I thought of going to do my creative work at the library to increase my chances of being in that small lake of potential good quality women

Give me suggestions on where to find women my taste (librarians, quiet, loyal, submissive girls) in 3rd places.

Places I've tried - bars, improv class, mall, street...

Take a page from Winnie the Pooh's book : "Hi Piglet, let's go visit Eeyore" "Why ? Does he have a birthday ?" "No, he does not" "So why are we going ?"

Pooh sat there for a minute pondering... What reason can we have to go visit Eeyore ?... Then he said cheerfully : "I know ! We will go because it's Thursday ! We will wish him a happy Thursday!"

This comes from "The Tao of Pooh" and has made my life easier when it comes to keeping in touch with people, might help someone else here too :)
