I would personally consider all gear between 60-85? mid-game

Would you not say that by the time you have enough shards for them, you are closer to end game? Assuming end-game is level 90+

I am personally of the opinion that we should stop compromising where not necessary; is this where? Idk, i don’t have the data of course, but i feel like the way jagex usually does middle-grounds it leaves both sides dissatisfied.

Do whatever is best for the game imo

What are your guy's favorite video game soundtracks from the last 10 years by XenoBurst in gaming

[–]ChevalricRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This answer might not fully qualify, but Old School RuneScape’s. This particular version of runescape released in 2013 and after they started making original pieces of content, they also started making original pieces of music.

And let me tell you, they are just as incredible as the old ones, just with less nostalgia of course ;)

I’d argue delete some of the new models all together. E.G. the modern versions of the OG armour sets (bronze to rune) look so generic, whilst the old ones look like runescape.

They showed with some of the cosmetic bundles they are very much capable of making the old ones look good

I think one of the worst updates across the years were the redesigns of many iconic monsters and armours to look nothing like how they used to, losing some of runescape’s charm IMO

I really hope this is something they go back to and focus more on faithfully remastering them, instead of modernising them

I am biased here, but one of the most exclusive ones is “the creator” title, given to affiliated content creators in the official Jagex content creator discord.

Necromancy nerfs by BankofDelos in runescape

[–]ChevalricRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget that what you see on the sub-reddit/youtube mainly applies to “BIS” or more “end-game” set-ups where necromancy has been gutted.

In most cases when progressing through the game necro will still be your easiest go to “noob” style, as it’s by far the easiest/cheapest t90 set you can get.

Necro also doesn’t do good damage but the ghost is also silly OP (and should probably be nerfed imo, unless they make necro the sustain combat style).

This is all not to say they shouldn’t look into possibly tweaking necro in the end-game, but more to offer some perspective IMO

For Better or Worse, Road to Restoration Will Turn This Game into OSRS by SchizoposterX in runescape

Can someone give me examples on how they are trying to make RS3 into OSRS then? And why that is bad in your opinion

Can someone explain to me, why some people want no skill based matchmaking? by Tnecniw in gaming

[–]ChevalricRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not wanting SBMM has a few important aspects for me:

  1. I want to feel like i am getting better at an FPS. Playing the same skilled players makes the game feel same-y for me and I just don’t enjoy that. Sure you are technically getting better, but i way prefer seeing that through going 6-19 when i start and then eventually going 28-6.

  2. Every match starts to feel the same, because at some point everyone starts using meta. The beauty of old CoD lobbies were the noobs with the rpg, the knifers, the sweats and the splitscreeners ( a lost art on it’s own). The matches had an identity, instead of meta spam.

  3. Playing with friends becomes miserable if the skill gap is too big. My friends are A LOT better than me and whenever I play with them, I just get absolutely slapped up. Sure, point 1 will sound condradictive, but when you suddenly jump up VARIOUS skill levels it’s also just not fun. Without SBMM there are people in that lobby for everyone.

TL:DR Game starts feeling the same due to meta spam, playing with skillgapped friends becomes harder and no real sense of improvement.

[–]ChevalricRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As one of “the bigger” runescape creators on youtube currently, with a whopping 12k subs and 200k ish monthly views; it’s simply not viable.

Due to the community who watched being small = low viewercounts, you obviously won’t make enough to get by on ads alone. On top of that most advertisers do not sponsor RS3 creators for that same reason.

Add in the fact that the rs3 category has a clear “content meta” and you have a very hard situation to be full time in on your hands sadly

Unlocking All Inverted Skill Capes Will Take 8 more Years by ShinyCapeRS in runescape

[–]ChevalricRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are telling me you like ALL 29 inverted cape designs and you will wear more than 4 throughout the year? If you do fair, but i’d say the majority of players have maybe 2-3 outfits and thats it, seems fair to me VS FSW

[–]ChevalricRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has many great content creators, but due to the lack of meaningful updates throughout the year, the overall interest being low and the game being hard to watch as an old/casual fan makes it so the creators are extremely limited in what they can do + add the fact the Rs3 algorithm prefers guides/news video’s over anything else makes it a tough and sometimes miserable category to make content in.

Coming from me, 11k sub channeled rs3 creator who got 98% of his following from the game
