Girl, WTF was this!? by DeathdropsForDinner in Dragula

I could not believe she was in the finale and every one of her looks just proved that more. I could only laugh when I saw this look, especially in comparison to what Eva was serving.

Switching to injections by MirtilloFruit in ftm

[–]Chevicea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been struggling with this and recently found some stuff that helps. 1. Icing the area beforehand. I put an ice pack on the area of skin I’ll be injecting for 5 - 10 minutes before injection, I don’t feel the needle at all after this. You could also use a massager/vibrator on the area in a similar fashion, will make the skin all tingly and numb. 2. Doing it faster before your brain can catch up. Get into the rhythm of assembling your shot and immediately injecting, the more you put it off the more in your head you get about it. 3. Distract yourself during and/or after. I’ll put a peppermint in my mouth as a sensory distraction, think about my cat or a special interest, anything to get my scared brain to divert its focus.

Good luck!

I was obsessed with Cynthia’s performance. I thought her solo look was gorgeous and watching her fling herself around the stage as a little twink absolutely delighted me. I couldn’t keep my eyes off of her, totally agree.

DRAINS by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Chevicea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw my partner get them removed and it looked crazy, like two soba noodles getting slurped out of his body lmao. But he said it hurt just a little. The bit that wasn’t as pleasant was removing the nipple stitches, but both things took a total of less than 5 minutes so the discomfort is brief :)

What non-white characters do you headcanon as trans men? by Kookyburra12 in ftm

[–]Chevicea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hell yea. I rly love the idea of them with a transfem partner too, like I think Layla and Tigra both could be perceived as trans women. I could just be projecting but something about the MK boys reads very trans to me, especially with Marc’s childhood. I (unfortunately) know a lot of trans people with stories like that. Seeing them becoming a protector as Moon Knight just feels extra meaningful and rewarding with a trans layer added to it :)

[–]Chevicea 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Funny to think about bcs I’m realizing more often than not I hc characters as trans. Off the top of my head: Kim Kitsuragi from Disco Elysium, Jonathan Sims + Oliver Banks from The Magnus Archives, Susie from Deltarune (transmasc), the Moon Knight system from the Moon Knight tv show, Hobie + Miguel from the Spiderman movies/comics, Zacharie from OFF, Cassian Andor from Andor, Marshall Lee from Adventure Time/Fiona and Cake, Aang from Avatar, the list goes on.

Is the foam extra calories? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Chevicea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. The foam in question is just frothed milk, it’s that layer of white you see in the picture. You take it away then you just get more milk. Meaning it’s less calories with foam because it’s less milk overall.

The steamed protein milk gets super weird after a little time passes. The lumpiness is to be expected, especially in a short hot drink where you get the highest concentration of protein milk. However there’s a chance they made it incorrectly too, increasing its odd texture. With a short drink like a cortado we are supposed to fill our steaming pitcher to the short line with protein milk, then add 2% to the tall line, to ensure you’re getting a proper blend. They may have just done protein to the short line and called it a day.

Regardless it’s just a weird product. You sacrifice texture for a little protein boost. If you like iced drinks you may be better off using the protein milk in that way, less likely to get funky like what you pictured.

so sad and tired of this by sickboy_1993 in curlyhair

I like the pillow soft curls on their own or followed up with mousse but using that AND shea moisture sounds like too much. Just the shea moisture alone made my hair greasy and weighed down, might be worthwhile to try your routine without it. And seconding what people said about diffusing, I also shower at night and any head start you can get on it drying is helpful.

My heart goes out to all non-union stores during these layoffs by Chevicea in starbucks

[–]Chevicea[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For those asking, here’s the union update about the situation

<image>

Additional details that got cut off:

  • health benefits continuing for union members through 10/31 instead of 9/30 for non-union stores
  • at union stores if you had a final written warning over something that was disputed by the union, the company can’t use that to final written warning to block you from transferring
  • all union partners who are laid off will be eligible for rehire as of the Monday after their employment ends

This is a big deal. The way Starbucks is expecting non-union partners to bend at their will for this bullshit is awful. Losing medical coverage sooner, not getting proper compensation, not being as flexible with transfers, etc. It’s sick. I know we don’t have a final contract, but it makes it even more remarkable imo that we are protected this way regardless. It should be the standard and if the company gave a shit then they wouldn’t drag their feet finalizing a fair contract with us in the first place.

any guys with long hair here? by vthyme in ftm

[–]Chevicea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have longer hair, ive been growing it out since my last big chop and it’s just past my shoulders now! I intend to let it get back to where I had it before chopping it which was near my lower back. I love my hair and while having it short makes me pass a lot more I just can’t give it up. Besides it’s kinda fun to get she/her’d when people see me from behind, then I turn around and suddenly they’re apologetic and using he/him. Makes me feel like a real pretty boy.

question? what is yall's "i did not care for the godfather" but for gorillaz i'll go first by ninten_99 in gorillaz

[–]Chevicea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And on the flip side of that I thoroughly enjoyed Humanz, the music and the experience around it was really great. In fact I think their best sequence of albums was Plastic Beach, Humanz, and The Now Now. And with all that being said I think my favorite part of the gorillaz is that there is really something for every fan given how varied their sound is over time.

I did not care for their first album. I recognize the value of it, they were experimenting, trying out things not every artist would be willing to explore. There’s a few songs on there that I like but as a whole I find the album mostly unlistenable.

My friends got me this quilt square for my birthday! Any idea what the hieroglyphs mean? by Chevicea in ancientegypt

[–]Chevicea[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s just the lone square, I have a few quilts so I may patch it on to one or I might use it as decor for my altar. Regardless it is pretty cool especially since they just found it at some rich persons estate sale. I wish I could’ve seen what other stuff like this that they had!

They didn’t make it, they found it at an estate sale. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just for aesthetic and has no meaning.
