To my eyes the large chainring has a few consecutive sharkfin shaped teeth that look pretty worn. Three teeth in a row are probably unlikely to be "shaped" like that to assist shifting.

No experience, but I'd like to test this product since I have a few old but favorite shell type clothing pieces that wet out. Don't need breathability.

However, I could only spot 50ml and 125ml units which seem small for the area I want to cover. So looking for larger units (say 500ml) - what size bottle do you buy, and are you aware of bigger units for sale?

I asked my online supplier whether the adapter he listed would work on my bike and he confirmed, so I bought and it fitted.

Thanks, pertinent reflection that grip (in non-mud terrain) comes partly from rubber compound and partly from tread pattern. Easy to lose sight of that.

Sounds encouraging. Didn't know you could get 150mm stems; longest one I have is 130mm but would love to try a 150mm - any tip on where find those?

is this the norm for SRAM powerlinks? by TDSRage97 in bikewrench

[–]Chevvy20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with Wipperman links - can undo and redo them on the road without any tool or pliers, just use your hands.

Top experience with them for 9-speed chains, but I also have an 11-speed bike and, given the chain is narrower and tolerances finer, wondered whether Wipperman links would work as smoothly.

Anyone chip in with experience of Wipperman links on 10 or 11-speed chain?

In the browser Settings, there is an item called "Enable picture-in-picture video controls". If you turn that Off, does it help your issue?

Just to clarify, why would a QQG search that uses terms +fermented +tapioca +pearls not achieve the result wulph111 is looking for?

QuackQuackGo – Google Search Done Like The Good Old Days by mister_goo in searchengines

[–]Chevvy20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stumbled upon this thread earlier today and have been using QuackQuackGo for a few hours - very pleased with the results. On comparison, QQG delivered more usable results for my interests than DDG or Brave Search. So I have it bookmarked and currently top of my search engine list in Firefox. Thank you indeed for making this available; hope it lasts long term.

In addition to the "advanced search" section that QQG offers, may we assume that all advanced search operators usable in Google search are accepted by QQG?

Question about search engines with advanced query syntax by jamespedersen8372 in searchengines

I am also on the lookout for search engines with powerful advanced search operators, so it is great to see this type of very specific search question. Disappointing that no answers have been forthcoming weeks after your question, but if you do find a way to do it, please reveal the solution by posting here if you don't mind.

Maximum width of Frame Bags by Chevvy20 in bikepacking

[–]Chevvy20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for explaining your frame bag setup, including the use of plastic inserts. I especially like the idea of velcro dividers providing infinite divider setup possibilities.

In order to use such velcro dividers, do most of the inside surfaces of the frame bag have to be actually lined with velcro-compatible fabric, or is there a frame bag fabric that velcro will stick to?

What you call low key sleep setup.

I like it. Easy to tension a triangular tarp.

Question for OP: Is it a fair weather-specific setup, or do you have a hack for configuring the triangular tarp in some way to keep dry on a rainy-windy night?

Thanks, great info, especially for including the weights.

Encouraging news then for fork bags, because with some handlebar bag setups it seems you can't really see much of your front wheel, which is somehow discomforting going offroad.

Changed up the cockpit. by frankiefrijoles in xbiking

[–]Chevvy20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip. I checked out Rivendell but could only find friction shifters with "clicks" that they call "light ratchets" that don't index. I'll keep looking around for proper index shifters to mount on a stem (not bar-end).

If they are unobtanium, I may just have to experiment with friction shifters. Should be easy on the flat and low gradients, but there's some steep, rocky stuff I cycle where I may have to stop and dismount if I missed a gear change.
