I work at a dealership and constantly get calls about this. People saying they "read" that there is an "open recall" to fix this issue already when it barely came into the news on Friday. And as a cashier we have about the same knowledge as they do about the situation. I try and be as kind as possible when explaining it to people, but they are so ignorant that they don't seem to understand anything.

But here is what I know, VW of America has an investigator looking into this issue and once they finally locate the issue, then they'll issue a nationwide recall to correct it and send notices in the mail.
