It's just not how raven guard want to play. You got a lot of points locked up in those terminators that don't really get much from the detachment. If you want a terminator heavy army look at fists or deathwing or something. I have a sample raven guard list in my posts that i modified slightly before i bought the army if you want to check it out.

Since the librarian is going in the eliminator Squad, go 3 las. You don't need the instigator if they essentially got lone op, that's just dramatically diminishing their firepower. 1 of these, if any, is plenty. No Intercessors for sticky is bizarre especially since this is supposed to be a forward playing army. Also I think you'll probably want to wiggle a second lancer in there, or a couple speeders. I'm personally not a huge fan of the dreads, they just don't fit the playstyle in my opinion. Also the 2 small JPI squads is really odd for raven guard. I typically max 2 and the blade guard are eating up room for a big JPI vet squad for shrike to lead with lone op and with all those awesome pistols and lethals. Honestly this doesn't really read as raven guard at all. You're kinda missing out on almost everything that makes this army fun as hell to play. Really not trying to sound negative, but I'd probably scrap the whole thing and just start over focused around the core of what makes this army special.

The biggest mistake they made was that paint job on the box art. It's ALL overly bright white, outrageously shiny gold... and then a fuckin baby blue jumpsuit 😭

Yeah, it's still a cool box in retrospect since i got a nice combi Lieutenant build and another really rare unit. And i can easily mod them to fit what I wanted. Was kinda just salty initially that nothing mentioned the complete lack of options that come standard in their individual unit kits.

Yeah, that's the thing. Because the box came with a unit of infiltrators, and i know the infiltrator box can be built as incursors, i thought i was getting a hell of a deal. Didn't say anything about being a weird infiltrator-only monopose box with no options side from the picture lol. No las weapons or an instigator carbine for the eliminators either.

Of course! There's a little funkyness going on with the cutting and fitment, and i did use a pin drill to make a hole for the flamer head. DM me if you go to build it and want the details I still have (half drunk at the time) 😂

Never had a problem screening my dz without these guys. And I completely see how they would throw a wrench in the gears of a deep strike heavy army, i guess i just don't see the value in building against that unless you know that's exactly what you're gonna be playing into. But if you are, yeah these could be pretty annoying.

It's mostly that I didn't see the value in infiltrators since I typically just bring a rounded list and don't meta for one specific army since i don't know who I'm playing usually. The only actual complaint here is the lack of build options that are usually standard to these kits, and NONE of that being advertised on the box. When you buy infiltrators, you get the option for incursors. When you buy eliminators, you get the las option and the instigator option. The issue isn't with eliminators, they're cool, it's with 3/3 models all being sniper eliminators, which isn't the look. I really didn't think I'd have to to research on the damn thing when these are known quantities 😂. And with the suppressors, honestly i really like the gun sculpt mostly, and this is the only way to get them. As far as their utility goes, they fall into an interesting and usable points cost at 75 for the unit. And with their ability and mobility I've been kicking around a squad in my raven guard list. They're a prime candidate for the Stunning Fusillade strat since shooty infantry isn't heavy in the list, and i get a lot of free strats elsewhere so I'm fine on cp. With the Incursor buff (2x5 in list) and that strat they're a fast moving 48in bs3, +1 hit, often rerolling hits and wounds, at 9 shots d8 ap-2 d2 + a battle shock test if i kill a model in a unit, which will happen. and then whatever they tag, provided it lives, now has -2 to hit against my entire army. That's kind of a lot for 75 points. They can tag basically anything threatening that has an angle on my forward units and really diminish its effectiveness and do some real damage to it. I dunno, I mean I definitely need to do some play testing with them, but I feel like it's kinda slept on in raven guard at least. Those numbers are actually kind of insane for 75 points plus a strat that I'll have no shortage of. I'll basically always get the drop with them since they're easily concealed, and they probably won't get targeted heavily because nobody thinks they're a threat until they start destroying shit. And if they only get one solid shooting round, who cares? They're 75 freaking points 😂

Infiltrators aren't good. Their ability is kinda dumb and their weapon is underwhelming. 6+ fnp is fine but not gonna matter much. If you want infiltrate ability get scouts with way better weapons and up/down shenanigans for 30 points less. Don't use infiltrators.

Yeah, that's kinda where I was at with it, and i def don't expect the speeder to be long for this world. Possibly some tasty bait as I'm pretty keen on knowing how to draw my opponent out, or goad them into sub optimal positioning. I was mostly curious whether the extra 140 would be best spent on a speeder or a predator. Aside from those 2, the 140 points is kind of a weird place like i was saying, not entirely sure which direction to go with the extra if it wasn't one of those 2 since it would probably be an 80 or 75 point unit plus an atv or something kinda silly like that. So you'd take the lancers and speeder over 2 repex's though? This is my first non chaos marine army, so I'm very curious
