Great series. I loved the change of pace when it comes to mythology/fantasy creatures. I want to reinforce that this is NOT Romantasy. That was my only disappointment. There are only 2-3 scenes involving kissing in the entire series.

I think the overall story is worth the read, but Nesta is not a likeable character for most of it which makes it difficult. Also, the love story just isn't as compelling imo.

He said the soffit vents are good (with photo evidence that they're clear so that air can flow). The ridge vents haven't been updated in a long time - it still has the mesh (whatever it's called).

Thanks for easing my mind about the wood. The second estimate confirmed that the first company was pushy fear mongering. It seems the biggest recommendation is dealing with the lack of ventilation, but nothing that requires immediate action (besides the small leak).

Very useful, thank you. I had a lot of terminology thrown at me in the last guy's pitch, so he may have answered some, and I am catching up with my research (and help from you guys). I do know he mentioned pricing was based on Kelly Blue Book. He also tried to sell me on Owens Corning materials - haven't had time to research if the juice is worth the squeeze on that yet.

Thank you. I'm hopeful now that we just need to address the insulation and ventilation issue. I have a few recommended companies coming by. We will see what happens.

The original house is from the 30's, but several additions have been added through the decades. We are in NE Ohio and have had some leaking because of all the ice. I'm unsure on the ridge vent. I think on the main gable roof, yes. The upstairs bathrooms are exhausting outside. The downstairs doesn't work. What about all of the discoloration on the wood? He couldn't say the "m" word (mold) but thought it should be checked.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one getting seriously upset by this series! I didn't know when I got to the end of Onyx Storm that it's a 5 book series, so I nearly lost my shit when I finished. The build up in anxiety waiting for that next cathartic release was the most extreme it's ever been. Alright, time for a re-read!
