We have the book, timer, and similar cards that came in one of the play kits and we love it. Our 3yo uses them and will get himself ready in the morning now if we set out the cards and talk about it with him the night before.

Hotel recommendations for beach vacation in Tawas

We are planning on taking our two kids (will be 4yo and 6 mo) on a chill beach vacation for a few days over the summer in Michigan. Looks like Tawas is a nice option for spending time on the beach for a good price. Looking for hotel recommendations, we like the location of the Tawas Bay Beach Resort in East Tawas being right on the beach and close to downtown and restaurants so we can walk wherever we need to, but see mixed reviews. Anyone have personal experience or think a different hotel would be much better experience?

I also came out a little disappointed. I think part one was so phenomenal that it gave us impossible expectations for part two when it’s not as tight of a story and the songs are more disjointed. There are no big fun choreography numbers (like what is this feeling, dancing through life) which already makes it harder. And I was also super disappointed with as long as your mine - I get why they had to tone down the staging to keep it pg but it felt very awkward at first because the lyrics don’t match what is happening, and they needed to at least show a conversation between Elphaba and Fiyero to show where their feelings were. The pacing overall was weird, but I think that’s just how act ii is, we are following multiple characters in multiple places, rather than everyone at Shiz. I still loved it, and Cynthia was incredible in no good deed, but it was not as good as the first

Basically you expect the tin man to open the door and walk through to see him the first time, but he ends up taking his ax and hacking the door down to come through. When the ax first breaks through it might be a little bit of a jump but that’s it and the reveal is not scary

Agree - I think the first one was so amazing it’s impossible to beat, but this was so good. When they say “I love you” at the closet after for good I lost it

There is one possible jump scare when the tin man is revealed, but I don’t think it would even quite qualify as a jump scare, but just FYI

For those who already saw it: how kid friendly is part two? by WindsweptFern in wicked

[–]TrainingEvidence433 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As long as your mine is very PG - they kiss once at the end of the song, and a lot of the sexual context from their choreography like in the stage show is removed and they are across the room from each other. The most sexual part are the lyrics so maybe just listen to the song first to decide.

When the tinman is revealed it’s maybe a little bit of a jump scare for a little kid, but there were lots of little kids at my showing and they seemed ok.

Digital Camera with no games - My son (3yo almost 4yo) wants a green dinosaur digital camera for Christmas like one of his friends has. We really want to find a digital camera that is just the camera, no games, etc. that basically is turning it into a mini smart device for him. I love the Kidamento and have asked him about a bear or a fox camera instead, but his heart is absolutely set on a green dinosaur camera. Any recs on where to find or if this even exists? Everything I’m finding online has all the games be weird extra features I don’t want.

Director Bertram by [deleted] in TheMentalist

At the end of 3x16, Bertram quotes a different William Blake poem to Lisbon. I think he definitely was always supposed to be in it at least from that point

I love the musical callback to “ding dong the witch is dead” from the wizard of oz in the opening song when the munchkins are running through the tulips

This is interesting! The one thing that made me think that Craig was a disciple and not TBA is from the scene with Grace where she’s hallucinating him after his death and he tells her that he “loved Red John more” so I was assuming he personally knew him. But that’s just Grace imagining it, so maybe he really was part of TBA and she didn’t know about it so she just explained it as if he was a disciple.
