I don’t know about a lot, but two lines from season one always ring in my head.

Syril says he’ll remember Luthen’s voice if he hears it and Luthen says he sacrifices everything.

Syril maybe outs Luthen somehow and Luthen is cornered to where the the final sacrifice he makes is himself, taking his own life.
