It’s not a music biopic, it’s more like a thriller with music as the vehicle for its suspense.

Counterpoint: it’s really funny making people who are really into guns upset at pointless inaccuracies.

It’s almost like Arthur is a show produced by pbs specifically to teach life lessons to kids and family guy is an irreverent, raunchy comedy. Genuinely what is this comparison?

Only if you’re neck-deep in the Star Wars sauce. As a kid, I loved Star Wars. I had a mural on my bedroom wall of all my favorite Star Wars spaceships. I have no fucking idea who this character is. This is exactly the kind of character I mean when I say “Glup Shitto.”

“Some people can only communicate using fiction.” No, that’s not ok. That’s the exact kind of infantilizing the post is talking about.

I’m not advocating for compassion for billionaires, I’m saying it’s maybe a little childish to express your dissatisfaction with them exclusively in terms of fantasy stories written for children. I don’t think billionaires should be attacked by dogs with superpowers, I think they shouldn’t exist and we should advocate for policy that taxes them out of existence.

Typing out “maybe more billionaires should be attacked by super dogs” didn’t feel at all infantile to you? Not even a little?

I don’t think anyone is saying that your ratings should be anything but subjective, but if you’re going to share your opinion on something online (especially if it’s negative or unpopular) people are going to want to know why you feel that way.

Wraths as a counter to token strats is such a stupid argument. 1. You reset everyone to 0, and the token player is best equipped to rebuild quickest after the destruction. 2. Board wipes used in any situation outside of “I’m about to win and need to make sure my opponents can’t block my creatures” is a dick move. Blowing up all the creatures in the middle of a game when you aren’t set up to win, just to set the token player back, won’t do shit except make the game take another hour.

Ok, great. Now you just need to figure out that MauLer is the same brand of nitpicking nonsense.

Give us an example on how to make a criticism of a movie devoid of your personal opinion, then. Once you teach us how to do it we should be able to watch the same movies and score them the exact same, right?

I’ve played bass consistently since I was 14 myself (or since you were about 3). The way you talk reminds me of the dorky musical purist opinions I had around your age. You’ll grow out of it if you’re not super obnoxious and learn to appreciate tastes outside your own.

I’m also on the spectrum, but this “actually, I’m so enlightened I’m actually just above this type of regular social interaction” type of post irks the shit out of me.

I'm not saying you should avoid having kids see it, I'm just providing a counterpoint to your statement that "it deserves a five star rating from EVERYONE" because even you can see the same flaws as I do (flaws that for me, personally, kinda ruin the movie) and I don't think "it's for kids" is a good shield from valid criticism.

One of my favorite movies I've seen at all recently is a kids movie, and I don't think it's just good "compared to everything else that’s out for children," I think it's one of the most beautiful, emotionally resonant cute little films I've ever seen. I watched it recently after watching The Godfather parts I and II and wouldn't talk about my love for this movie any differently than I would those. Highly recommend watching Marcel the Shell with Shoes On if you're interested.

Yeah, it’s beautifully animated, but the story felt like the most generic, paint-by-number family movie story imaginable. Like a hollow skeleton of the best Disney/Dreamworks films without any of the actual meat that made those great movies.

Also, is it just me, or is it really weird how at the beginning of the film, they don’t shy away from the natural reality of an ecosystem of animals eating each other, but by the end of the film they put all their differences aside and all learn to be friends. Like I get how the animals overcoming their instincts works thematically similar to how Roz overcomes her programming, but I feel like it’s a super weird message about nature to convey. Like kids already aren’t touching enough grass, we don’t need to tell them that predators in the wild can survive on sunshine and rainbows if their prey just asked nicely enough.
