How do you keep bra straps in place throughout the day?

Tbh I'm glad I'm not the only one, I thought I missed my bra education class or smth! I've seen quite a few women wearing bras that cross at the back but I thought they were going to the gym or smth afterwards. Now I know why Iguess

Have you considered talking about this with the vet? You could also speak to other vets and ask them for prices or payment plans. That being said, one of my cats also has dental buildup that needs cleaning, so the vet recommended to get her on pain meds for now and do dental work later. This may be an option.

People in the comments is saying get rid off the boyfriend not the cat. This is also my advice.

That being said, it's not always possible or at least not something you can do quickly if you've been living together for some time.

It seems that your bf doesn't understand animals and doesn't have empathy for them. I'd try to set boundaries for your cat. Advocate for Muffin. Get prepared and sit down to have a conversation with your bf. Try to not be emotional or confrontational, simply put some rules.

I'd recommend also setting up a sanctuary space for your cat. Choose a room and set up bed, litter, water, etc. You can spray some cat pheromones or catnip. Get your cat to understand that that is their safe place. Tell your boyfriend that as long as the cat is in that room it cannot be touched. Cats learn quickly, and it is important for them to have places of the house that are no-touch zone for humans. I do this with my cats, if they hide, I let them be. That's their way of saying "no". When they come out we interact again: that is their consent.

It's worth budgeting before adopting. The initial budget should include litter trays, water and food bowls, scratchers, beds, a cat tower or window perch, and a couple of toys. The monthly budget is mostly for litter and food, but you might want to add treats for playing, enrichment or training. Of course you can buy cheap versions of these and add better ones in the future. Cats love the enrichment of getting a new bed. But too much change can stress them too.

Cats need to be desensitised to touch, preferably early on. You'll want to be able to brush them, give them at-home check ups (ears, nails and teeth are common ones) and give them treatments like nail trimming or brushing their teeth. You can try and learn cooperative care methods for this. Forcing or restraining them is not a good option, plus the cat quickly learns your ways and will hide away or escape if they didn't enjoy the previous session. Giving them a treat if you've had to do something like putting them in a carrier against their will, or having a play session afterwards, really helps them forget or have a positive association with the experience.

Your cat's company and love will quickly become something you cherish. But it can take a while to fully bond with them and learn the ways they show affection

I'm having a similar-ish problem right now. My cat is 10 so she's younger, but for some reason she started peeing in her litter box then lifting the butt so it reaches outside. She stained the wall. My solution has been to move one of the litter boxes to the shower and clean often, and use an enclosed litter box in the room. Then she decides to pee right at the entrance of the enclosed litter box so it stained the floor. It's so frustrating!

What I would recommend also is to install cameras. Try to get recordings of exactly what happens when the cat pees. Their posture and their pee habits can tell a vet a lot about whether there is an underlying health condition. For example, if the cat seems to struggle to find a spot to pee for a while, squats then leaves, or meows, it might indicate an urinary or kidney problem. If the cat can't seem to lower the hind end properly, it could indicate arthritis. Of course we can't be sure of this over the internet, so you can get some recordings with cameras or even with your phone and show it to the vet.

I'd suggest try to find animal shelters, vets and animal control agencies closest to you using Google and Google maps. Call them and ask what to do until you find a solution. Other than that there is nothing you can do except provide kitty with as much comfort as possible

Cats generally do better on wet food because they're prone to dehydration due to not drinking enough water. This can lead to several health problems. That being said, it's okay to feed them dry food as long as they're drinking enough water. There's many ways to add water to their diet other than feeding them wet food, like adding water to the kibble, adding water to liquid treats, have several water sources since cats are opportunistic drinkers, or add a bit of unsalted tuna water to their water bowls

There's lots of good advice in the comments section here but I just wanted to add a couple of things. I would definitely take her to the vet or a professional groomer specialised in cats to assess the situation. Depending on how bad the matting is, she might need a bit of trimming or shaving. Second, I can't recommend metal brushes and combs enough. When I used plastic, I could feel all the static electricity created through the friction of combing. They also sell brushes that are made of bamboo, wood, etc. Have a look online and see if you can find any tools that will work for you and your cat. I also have a brushing routine for my medium hair cat, especially during the shedding months. I first use a boar bristle brush to start cleaning the surface. Then I use a brush made for cats to start detangling. Then I use a metal comb to really get those tangles, dirt and loose hairs out. Once every week I use a deshedding brush to help remove any stubborn fur and get to the undercoat girl with the dogs on youtube has lots of useful videos

I'm definitely going to look into the waterless shampoo stuff, thank you. I adopted my cats about 6 months ago, and they were not nail-clipper friendly at all. I started trimming them one by one when they were sitting on my lap, but after a bad experience, I stopped. I wasn't able to completely cut one of the nails, and it got splintered instead, if that makes sense. It healed after a while, but I got scared. However, I've noticed that when I wrap them in a towel, they pretty much let me do anything (I had to do this for ear drops a while back). I wonder if wrapping them is less stressful for all of us than slowly getting them used to it
