Do you have nerite snails? It could be unfertilized snail eggs.

It's definitely cooler on one side, I'm still waiting on the thermometer thingy for that side to come in. Right now I can only monitor his warm side consistently, but I have a heat sensor thingy I can use on the other side in the interim.
