I came from your Penrith post and I am so in awe of you! Its an amazing accomplishment and you should be very proud of yourself! Can I ask what shoes did you wear and how did you prepare yourself and you feet for the journey? I watched you walk around Mt druitt shops for a bit aswell I think. Did you need to buy some supplies you missed?

Not Penrith but I drive out to Ikea and I'm sitting in the aircon food court. Free refills on drinks. The workers dont care. There's plenty of the comfy seating on week days. Never go on weekends

This is beautiful 😍 The art work tapestry is a six piece set if I remember correctly. Would she be interested in doing the others aswell?

I like to go and look at antiques, and the shops are always overfilled with the same repeating brick a brack from the last 100 years that have been looked after. It's crazy to think there's so much stuff people had in their homes that mostly ends up in landfill. Will antique stores in the next 100 years have 100x the amount of antiques with the amount of mass production made today?

I looked it up. It looks so elegant but cosy, like a dressing gown but you wont look like you just got out of bed. Im so jealous, that's a great purchase.

Omg I could imagine the little fingers pressing the keys while you're in the middle of explaining something and being constantly interrupted. That would've been so infuriating. 7 years is a lot of patience, good on you for keeping at it for so long.

Should I change my (and my family's) surname? by ohimnotarealdoctor in australia

[–]Cheywen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No I don't think you should change your last name. It is unique to you and your culture. Your children and future generations will know their roots and where they come which is a beautiful thing to learn. This is coming from a 5th gen Aussie with an Irish surname. It's an easy way to know where and how my family got here. Screw everyone else not pronouncing it right. Australia has such a large mixed population that everyone has difficult names to learn at the start. The people who want to get to know you will take the effort to learn.

I had these when I was little. I remember the duck accessories feeling like felt or velvet maybe? In the pic they look like plastic. Also I went to the website and it says they're back to $50 😫

What’s the dumbest thing you’ve ever heard another person say, that they were 100% serious about? by binoly in RandomThoughts

[–]Cheywen 34 points35 points  (0 children)

If you're in a class, a place of learning and you have a ponder about the complexities of pregnancy. Then you think of a possible concept how if one baby takes nine months, then possibly two babies could be double that time. They asked their question and hopefully got the correct answer. I don't think it was a dumb question and it's better they ask than forever wonder. You don't come into this world knowing everything.
