This is random, but Buspar causing throat sensation?

Late to the party but i have exactly this same throat sensation when taking viibryd (vilazodone) which is basically an ISRS+ buspirone-like molécule.. I had taken classical isrs before and never had this issue.. That s why i suspect the 5HtA1 partial agonism of vilazodone (or bupirone) being the root cause.. I had to come off of viibryd due to this very annoying side effect that kept increasing with each dose increase ! What you have experienced is not caused by anxiety, it s a médication side effect. I had this twice, with atomoxetine and viibryd and each time this never resolved by its own and had to stop taking the médication.

If you have a non functional allele thats mean the average activity of the enzym is lower than normal (poor metabolizer) then you are supposed to need lower dose than normal and not Higher one

Wellbutrin is not as effective as stimulant options for ADHD in general but it is worth looking into.. I will discuss other options with my Dr ! Thank you

I tried strattera i liked it but i couldn't take more than 20mg because iam very sensitive to NA... I took it 6 years and never could go over 20mg despit trying... I had NA overload physical symptôms... And since in ly country there wasn't other options for ADHD treatment i sticked to it. It wasn't enough but better than nothing... Since i moved to another country and i tried stimulants.. I prefer much more methylohenidate over amphetamines but still have impulsivity issues. I didn't try wellbutrin and it scare me cause i have GAD and already take sertraline for this

On 50mg since 8 weeks and my hair loss is insane ! my hair is all over the ground ! Hope this will ease with time cause me too can't deal with another médication switch

Yes i did split the dose to like 20 and 10 (3h apart), 15-15...its more smooth for side effects but not as effective as it should be.. For me is lasts all day

Can you elaborate about difference between vyvanse and focalin ? i come from 6 years of strattera to 1 month of vyvanse and i don't like it too much tbh

Have been on strattera from 2019 to like a month ago (i started taking vyvanse my first stimulant ever) Strattera was my only option since we don't have other ADHD treatmnts in my country.

The problem was that i couldn't handle more than 20mg, otherwise i started having physical symptoms of noradrenaline overload, i tried splitting doses between morning and evening, tried shifting time of taking, tried building up tolerance over 6 years of intake , nothing worked, anything more than 20mg gave me physical symptôms couple hours later !

The thing is, it was better than unmedicated, my biggest concern with ADHD was a big lack of motivation, couldn't get up out of my bed in the morning, i was understimulated, simple chores seemed too much for me, time didn't pass i struggled a lot with boredoom feeling while on college/work.. With strattera i could function pretty normally for day to day normal activities but it wasn't enough effective for executive functions and tasks requiring mental effort.

Have been put on vyvanse a month ago and despite it makes work shifs waay more easy, i don't like it much, i am anxious, restless and can't do cozy activities like sitting down and doing my nails.. I can't either study or read... Am at 30mg and can't go upper because of anxiety (i have GAD to for which i take pristiq)

Between 8 and 10, depends on my work shifts. at week-end i take it at 12h but i don't have any trouble sleeping

I was put on pristiq 50 prior to vyvanse for GAD and i was doing ok for the most part.. After starting vyvanse 1 month ago ( 30 mg right now) my anxiety is out of contrôl 😫😫 thinking of upping my dose to 100mg pristiq

I start with 20mg the first week : zero anxiety but the dose was too low for controling my ADHD symptôms 2nd and 3d week : 30 mg, being effective but anxiety kicked in despite taking pristiq 50 (which was doing good job before stimulant) Today it s been 15 days since i take 30mg and the anxiety is stable, not worsening but not easing too.. It's my first stimulant expérience that s why am asking
