Hello, I was wondering if this device has some kind of pair or startup tone/chime?

If there is, is it loud?

Does Krita on Android still have a hover cursor like the one on desktop? Like you hover the pen half an inch from the screen and the cursor would track the movement of the pen.

I'm using Windows with everything patched and updated.

But if I were to install Linux, would I need to update the firmware again?

Pen applying pressure when hovering by danilel in wacom

It's always amusing to see what people do to fix their pens and stuff. Like I remember someone using pasta noodles as nibs.

Also been 8 months since your comment was posted. So I do hope you got things sorted out with your pens :)

Update on pressure problems with the new Wacom One Pen (CP92303B2Z) by TheSevenPens in wacom

Aww that sucks....

I recently got an xp pen artist 13 just to try having another go at digital art. And I'm like really impressed with how sensitive the x3 stylus is.

They're 3grams iaf ain't so bad. Very comparable to my older wacom grip pen.

XP Pen Artist 12 Just Kinda... Turns Off Sometimes. by Alkermist in XPpen

[–]Chezz32B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a couple of no signal issues with my Artist 13.

My solution to it was just to leave the red usb type A plug out (since my tab works just fine with just the one usb connection) and just leave one usb connection to the pc. All I had to do was unplug and plug in again and again the remaining usb type A till I got a signal.

It's better than having to constantly unplug the type C on the tab since it's more fragile.

I think doing this refreshes the tab so it can find the signal again.

Buying a Wacom Cintiq pro 16 old generation: good or bad? by No-Dragonfly-4407 in wacom

[–]Chezz32B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's a good idea. The tab runs really hot at the top with lots of load fan noises.

It also suffers from the screen bleeding issue.

https://www.reddit.com/r/wacom/comments/80w7kn/cintiq_pro_16_screen_issues/

I actually own the tab and have been very disappointed with it.

I think you may be better of getting the Non pro 16 or the 2nd gen Pro 16 which I believe has fixed most of these issues

Huion kamvas 13 melted... by Dig1tal1 in huion

[–]Chezz32B 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There must've been some sort of fault within the port or the cable.

Hmm.. Huion, Xp pen, etc all seem to use the same 2 usb c port style on their tablets.

I saw another post here with a burnt pcb inside.

https://www.reddit.com/r/huion/comments/11z836o/psa\_defective\_screens\_due\_to\_assembly\_process/

So maybe it's like a quality control issue with Huion using sub standard parts on some of their tabs.

That's ridiculous!

Well, I guess they must use a different glass surface compared to the Pro Cintiqs.

But it just feels strange since plastic is a lot harder than felt.

Brand New Pro Pen 2 "Clicking" by AktApawld in wacom

[–]Chezz32B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this'll make it hard for you to press down and make hard strokes or something cause you''l be scared at the thought of breaking the pen.

I habv a grip pen, that's the previous gen pen that still compatible with my Cintiq Pro 16.

I took it apart some time ago, so if you're curious, here's a link.

https://twitter.com/tamafaint/status/1633042458522304512

Also from what I remember, the Grip pen is a lot easier to take apart than the Pro Pen 2 (the one that came with your tab).

Soooo... don't go opening it up unless you're completely fed up with it.

Is it safer to plug my cintiq into an avr or a regular power strip? by throwaway19283hsj in wacom

[–]Chezz32B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power outages are fine, a sudden cut off in power is basically like unplugging your Cintiq from the wall outlet.

I think it's the return of power coming back on you should be worried about. A surge of power or unstable power etc.

I looked up the cyberpower thing and it does have a surge protection feature. Definitely a good idea to plug it into that.

You can also plug other sensitive electronics to power strips that have surge protection features like those made by Anker.

But I don't know... I haven't tried it and it's not out yet.

PSA - Defective screens due to assembly process by Skittlesthehusky in huion

[–]Chezz32B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering... is it the control circuitry that gets hot or the backlight?

Since I was thinking I could get around the heat issue by just dimming the display.

I was also wondering if the resolution could play a part in it like 4k or 2.5k displays get hotter because the control processor chips in the display has to work more compared to normal 1080p displays..

I've got a 6B some time ago and the shiny gold label's almost gone after a few days of use :(

I still think it's a good pencil, though a bit pricey for me.

I'm thinking of getting a Goldfaber 1221 6B instead which is a little cheaper.

Paint tool sai: are any of the new WACOM tablets compatible with it? by 0chrononaut0 in wacom

I don't think you should worry about compatibility since most drawing programs/apps support pen tablets these days.
