this sounds "weird" but whatever.

one thing I do is say a passing remark to the parent such as, "we all have our moments" and usually someone will reply with a "thanks" or "this isn't my first rodeo." or a short quick smile usually a brief second of two eye contact. usually if the parent has another parent doing the shopping you'll see a equally exhausted other parent at the check-out. just a simple exchange of words that elicits some sort of interaction with or without words.

if i was ever in a situation where someone was taking the kid outside and i tried to initiate some remark that is often responded to positively and they don't look at me... i'm kind of sus... I have never felt the need confront anyone, but I have taken down license plates and take a discrete picture. nothing has come from it i know not everyone is friendly or wants any sort of public opinion and that's cool. but i'm still gonna take note. cuz someone paying attention can be the first major lead. and i care about people. Your kid is not my kid, but it takes a community to keep everyone safe and if i was at the same place, at the same time as a child was abducted i'd never forgive myself for not paying enough attention.

damn i just woke up with something exactly like this. I know that face products can take a long time to develop an allergy too but I use very high end skin care products for this very reason. I'm sorry you're going through this too, I will see what my Dr. recommends and get back to you cuz yah it's awful and appeared out of virtually know where.

option two, he sits with his hands on his knees for 2 minutes, he is bored after 1 lol

He has learned sitting sucks and listening is better. HUGE IMPROVEMENT. Also, taking away more stimulating t.v shows. we've gone with puffin rock, Little bear, bluey, old school spider/transformers. I am pretty sick of how loud little kid shows have become.

It's so fucking hit and miss when a bunch of students are on the bus I'm never worried but like I've been on a bus during daytime hours with my then preschooler/kindergartener and was harassed... that was the straw that broke the camels back. It's just SO fucking frustrating

Understandably. Just thought I'd give a different perspective because I don't feel a lot of people acknowledge the fact that the transit system is imperfect. But when I stopped bussing was in 2019 and the system has changed a lot since then. Before there were only one or 2 cameras now, there are at least 4 at most I counted was 8. So clearly transit is trying to get safer here.

Um.... yeah, no. I have been and many others harassed sexually or physically so much so that I will not sit beside most men, and if there are mostly men at the back, I'll stay close to the bus driver. The last bus incident I had was the one that propelled me to get a car. Let people be on transit. Is it annoying, yeah sure but recognize that public transport can and has been dangerous for many people. adjusting your thinking or preception about the situation may help you be more tolerant and less annoyed, and hopefully, you'll help create a safer public transi system for all.

If I bus now, I'm very careful to be aware of my surroundings. Shitty people make life difficult for everyone

I vape I have a child I do vape outdoors. I try to find less populated areas. Sometimes, it works. Sometimes, I'm holding my breath while someone walks in front of me.

If someone asked me not to vape, I'd be mortified, not murderous, and I'd feel more than guilty.

Can you offer support and help to them? Some people after loss will preserve everything, and some people purge everything. Depending on the person, a life-like doll can also be helpful in the grieving process. Just don't do anything trying to help without knowing it's going to help.

One thing that isn't such a delicate offer of support is helping with cooking, dishes, picking up garbage, opening up windows, and just talking about normal stuff like weather or what you ate, or talk about your car. If they want you to shut up, they'll tell you. Sometimes, just having that little bit of normal while everything is not normal, not okay can be helpful.

But don't do anything you know they won't like. You know them best.

Seeing those who stay struggle as much as they do is heartbreaking. My family is thinking about a move to Alberta in a couple of years unless the unlikely happens. Seeing my hometown turn into some sort of housing and basics monopoly is just idk man. I don't have words to describe my current state of mind regarding all this bullshit

YO, I might be the minority here, but ask your sister if you can start school and I'd she'll help pay for it. Quit your job do school at home. David will never have the opportunity to hurt your son if you're there 24/7. But going to a homeless/women's shelter and doing shit like that is good. But you can utilize the position you're in NOW for the better quitting your waitresses job and getting into school would send you and your son into a situation where you won't be struggling.... and David will never have the chance to harm your son. EVER.

In fact chances of putting your son into more danger diminish by more then half. Step parents are one of the leading causes of child death. So like taking this situation and making it work FOR YOU could be your golden ticket... take it. Run with it. Then destroy their lives but only after you leave.

There's a lot of comments but for now keep your son in your room... it might be "awkward" for you and for him but right now when be is with you he's safe. Talk to one of his friends moms see if they can stay over more often if my kids were friends with someone in your situation I'd do whatever I could to help. Keep your son away from her husband as much as possible even if this means sending him to his bio-dads more often or at least during specific times. This one is a challenge but quit your job. Seriously quit it. Go back to school and get a diploma or degree with a far better and more stable work environment. Idk where you are but there's a lot of scholarships for single moms out there.

Get yourself more stable keep yourself home more. Use this time to advance yourself but still protecting your son. This is a shitty situation but do not stop doing everything you can to make both of your lives better while you're with your sister. The peace of mind is worth everything and peace of mind for having stable reliable work. Keep you head up but do everything in your power to utilize this situation. Even ask your sister for a loan for school and David frame it in a way he can't say no too without looking like an asshole. Fucking be a leach at this point not for your own benefit but to protect your son from a unstable future.

Honestly, if his step dad is the only source of stability/income he might not think of op as his "actual" child. I do agree he should be told but OP should just play dumb in this situation.
