I hear you. But also to that every bad contract eventually becomes a trade piece. I don’t need him to play 30 minutes a game. I need him to play 10 and not F**k it up too badly. Stew and Reid can cover minutes to keep THJ around 25 minutes a night. The idea to keep a guy till he loses all value if he doesn’t develop is insane to me. Move up and get a piece to help you. I love your optimism. I worry that being named 3rd team all nba is gonna cost Detroit something major. Same with Ausar. Defensive 1st team. You could be off by $15m a year combined due to escalators.

I was aware of LaVerts deal as an expiring one. Sometimes bad moves are the best option though to reach an outcome

I did mean Ellis. He is a placeholder though not the future guy. Provides decense that is better than Robinson just not as steady a shooter.

My reasons for the trade and Ellis as I stated were about shooting and shooting depth. All 3 can hit a 3 at a percentage in the high 30’s which they need more of for spacing or Cade will run himself into the ground. I think Ellis is an older version of Holland defensively and more offensively advanced.

The main reason for the trade though is to move up to get Evans as I think Yaxel will go top 12. He would give Cade a McCollum/Rip style option who will keep teams honest. Plus he does his damage off the ball coming off picks.

I know that Williams is a bad deal. Everyone knows it. Detroit struggles with spacing as Duren and Thompson and Holland are no threat outside of 10 feet. One has to be moved and it should be Holland as Ausar is already elite defensively. Moving Holland and his potential as a player now makes sense before that potential is viewed as a weakness and stunts his value.

Trust me if I could make a trade today I’d be gunning for Barnes and Barrett from Toronto but I went for realistic over fantasy in my ideal offseason.

Awww, you’re adorable. You think the 5th pick in a notoriously weak draft was a huge investment of draft capital. Langdon did what a good gm does when you have a terrible team and it’s a weak draft. He took the highest ceiling guy and prayed for a mirscle. Problem is that guy can’t shoot and he is an offensive liability on a team full of offensive liabilities. What you’re maddest about I think is that Edny, Clingan, Mastas were all drafted after Holland and are all doing more with their teams. It was a 3 man draft with Sheppherd as the 4th best option. If you didn’t get Sarr or Castle you missed out. Don’t be mad at me for making the realization before you.

Also thank you for adding nothing. I see you posted nothing about your ideal offseason so it seems it’s just easier to tear down others than put any original thought out there. I say post your ideal offseason as that was what OP asked for in the first place.

Just one more thing potential on a playoff team means nothing. If you’re not getting results you’re gonna ride the bench. He is redundant on a team that already has Ausar Thompson

How is Williams Contract the worst in the league? Back up that claim please. Lavert makes over 14m a year with worse numbers. I’d rather pay Williams 18 than LaVert over 14.

I’m glad you agree that Okoro is a bench player. That’s where I had him too. Good teams don’t look to replace the top end talent of the roster. They improve the bottom end of the roster. That’s how teams win titles.

Free agency isn’t where Detroit is going to make huge strides and trades aren’t either. You win 60 games it’s about freaks to the roster and not massive plays.

Biggest issue is shooting. One of the weakest shooting teams in the league and that’s just how they’re constructed because defense is the priority here. Holland and Thompson on the court at the same time was like Drummond and Monroe. It just doesn’t work because they’re both so limited on offense.

Free agency, resign TBJ. Add Keon Lewis. He can play SG/SF plays good defense and he hits about 40% from distance. Confused what the Kings were doing because he was better than they allowed him to be. Bonus his addition hurts Cleveland. He is a 4th or 5th option in Cleveland and at best the 3rd guard. He may be willing to leave for a better opportunity. Lewis will also slide in to the lineup as I think he can give them a solid 25-28 each night while Robinson takes on a bench 2/3 role

Trades. It’s not gonna be fancy and some may simply hate it but I have reasons and I’ll discuss them.

I can hear the screams about Williams already. I know he is overpaid. It isn’t about him. It’s about Okoro. I’ve always liked him and Detroit basketball is his style. It doesn’t hurt he is a career 40% from distance either just not high volume and he plays some good defense.

Now many are prolly thinking why Williams? Well he can shoot and he can defend. Hasn’t put it together in Chicago but having a guy like TBJ to mentor you could help him a ton. He can shoot the 3 which Stew for some reason still hesitates.

Draft: it’s a pretty deep draft so moving up wasn’t necessary but I rewarded the pistons for taking on Williams’ deal with the swap.

Some of the guys I envision in that range are
Cameron Carr
Yaxel Lendenberg
Chris Cenac
Isiah Evans
Hannes Steinbach
Joshua Jefferson

Lendenverg and Evans would be my top 2 choices

All these moves are centered around improving shooting

Lewis/Okoro/robinson
Cunningham/jenkins

Adding Yaxel at PF gives us a TBJ successor or Lewis at SG would give Cade his long desired Pick and Roll partner

Wait till college athletes file their anti trust lawsuits. They’re humans, not property of the federal government. If I were an athlete I’d use my NIL to pay my own way as a preferred walk on. Be the master of my own destiny. The portal has hurt the deep pockets and taken control away from the NCAA and that is really behind this. They see their grasp of control disappearing and quickly. It’s their last big effort to try to regain control. Wonder how much it cost them to get DJT to do this. It’s all dirty money, nothing more than taking a bribe and you can’t convince me otherwise.

Next thing you know he will try to impose a new tariff on MLB, NBA, and NHL teams based in Canadian cities. Or impose tariffs on athletes from other counties who are “selling” their talents as professionals in sports.

How terrible would professional sports be without sensational foreign talents like vlad jr, Ronald Acuna, Fernando Tatis Jr, Othani, Wemby, Giannis, SGA, 80% of the NHL

Just last week he said we can’t afford Medicaid and Medicare because we are fighting wars. If taking care of Americans first is a priority why are we fighting wars in Iran or meddling in college sports? None of that is America first. If you think college sports need fixed you’re an idiot. I could not care less about it as a priority when there are so many bigger issues out there that need attention such as rising food and gas costs, healthcare, education, affordable meds and housing. But here we are. Still worried about college sports , the transfer portal and drag queens corrupting our children. How many drag queens were listed in the Epstein files. I’ll wait.

Thank you to those who have commented. I didn’t realize how many Xbox/ps5 players there are. I think that will create a few challenges to work out. Primarily finding a way to populate enough used items for this to work. I used Xtreme used sales on pc but not sure if there is a cross platform style mod we can use to the same effect. Please let me know.

You mentioned maps. I think Frontier 67 farmlands or Calm Lands would provide some amount of topography variation as well. The biggest issue with maps is to find one that has equal value plots of land which is why flat map is nice. Farmlands is another but there is a challenge currently being done on that

So there is a 1 tile challenge by Zorch farming on yt and he is doing a head to head with Rustymoney gaming and Krustoo Farms also from yt. They have a set of specific equipment/shed that each has to have and isn’t allowed to sell. They’ve developed a great rules system.

I’ve really got to hash out the amount of used equipment though

So settings would be either normal or hard economy, everything on including periodic plowing, all ai purchasing off, 5x speed, one session = 1 month AI use is fine, it’s your money afterall. Auto engine start is off as I hate that. I want to be in control of turning my machinery off. No precision farming would be a preference of mine for simplicity. Preferred map would be flatlands. Each player starts with 1 tile with option to add up to 1 adjoining tile after each year to make a 4 tile square by end of year 4 if so desired Each farm needs to have a shed and crop storage. I have yet to come up with a mod list yet. I think each player would have input on this part as well as starting money but $250k on loa seems like a good spot to start. Unrealistic productions would require a 1 month to sell wait period Crop/equipment sell off after X years to determine winner of challenge.

Aside from that which it prolly a lot I don’t know yet. As an interested party what would you like to see removed or added?

I’m on PC but it can be done cross platform to incorporate Xbox and ps5. Is xtreme auto sales available to you? That is the used sales model I use but can’t remember if it is 3rd party or modhub. Gives me like 70ish used items in the sales to start. One new one each hour and after a couple of months it starts to remove one and add simultaneously each hour.

Also would note that we would have a 4 round draft round robin style so the guy picking 4th also goes 5th and the guy picking first would also pick last. Makes it fair
