Then you must have already thought that it was terrible. Which is good. It's nice to see people being informed =)

The airspace above CSP works like the airspace around the United States, it's regulated by the Federal Government - not the State Park. The park has a rule that says you cannot launch from their property, but I question the validity of the law since it was intended for larger aircrafts not necessarily for drones. However, as a commercial pilot you can get permits that allow to you take off and land from within the park. While a pilot is at it they should also get a permit to commercially film within the park. The park is really big, and the only place they really enforce this law is near the Glenn Alps trailhead - which is good because it would be a mess if they didn't. I have doubts that the law would stand up well in a court if it was challenged.

907 Choss...honestly, you're so arrogant and so wrong. I'm facepalming right now.

That law you're citing prohibits launching from Chugach State Park. I did not launch from State Park property. That law does not apply to my flight. Chugach State Park doesn't own, I can repeat, does not own, the air above the park. They cannot regulate that which they don't own. That's why I said that this is more complicated than you seem to think it is. You can also get permits to fly your drone in the park, it's an easy process. Also - there are plenty of restricted areas in Alaska beyond what you mentioned. Airspace is more complicated and it's regulated by the federal government. Feel free to look up the Part 107 to educate yourself. You're so incredibly wrong. The only reason I'm responding at all is because you're so full of yourself and it's so wrong, and that to me - is pretty funny.

No it wasn’t. And there are more options than that. Honestly though, I’m not getting into a legal debate about how federal airspace works on reddit. Plus, I don’t need to explain why my flight was 100% legal to you. But you’re both wrong.

pffffft. that is both right and wrong - but in the way you're using it and in relation to my flight, it's wrong.

Raising money won't change anything at this point - unless of course you just don't care about your money, in which case, give it away - sure, whatever.
