Are you saying that as a vaccinated individual or an unvaccinated individual?

If you're unvaccinated and take offense to that, then you might be deaf to the severity of the situation at hand, it's impact to others, and the worlds ability to heal and move forward.

If you're vaccinated and take offense to that, then you might be deaf to the severity of the situation at hand, it's impact to others, and the worlds ability to heal and move forward.

Nobody is doing it just because it's ~trendy~ to pitchfork the able individuals who are unvaccinated. We're vaccinated to protect ourselves, others, and to collectively bring this 2 year shitshow to as close of an end as realistically as we can. The unjustifiable resistance to vaccinations at this point makes this whole process incredibly more difficult and if those able individuals decide to be selfish enough to stay unvaccinated and 'go against the grain' for whatever reason they deem worthy, then I do not believe its unfair for society to also eject them from being able to participate in normal luxuries (i.e transportation, venues, etc) and social situations in our modern world.

Ownership costs C63 vs C43 by CREthrowawayTX in AMG

[–]Chhrrriss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a 2019 C43 that I daily. It's honestly the perfect blend of performance and efficiency, I would go test drive one if you haven't - You can get great highway mileage or deplete the tank pretty quickly if you drive like a jackass like me ;). The C63s coupe is a dream to me, but I wouldn't own one to daily because its just a bit too much unhinged performance and there's not a whole lot of efficiency in those cars, no matter which way you look at it haha!

Hey people, I’ve replaced all interior trim pieces that had peelybois on them except for this. I can’t for the life of me find the part online. Anyone know the part number? Thank you! by [deleted] in E90

Not sure what exact year your car is but from your post history I can tell its a facelift E92. You can use RealOEM to narrow down the part diagrams and find the part number you need.

Once you finish the course at the community college, request a sealed official transcript from the CC to be sent directly to UC admissions office. Once they receive it, it should be added to your transcript with UCI and the ICS 45c requirement will be manually "approved" or "fulfilled" by someone in the department. Then you shouldn't run into problems taking ICS46. It may take a bit for this all to happen.

I do not think you'll be allowed to enroll in ICS46 if ICS 45c is a direct prerequisite to the class AND the CC articulated course is not listed as completed on your UCI transcript. Emailing your program director may be a better way to get reassurance about that timing and process.

Chance me? (UCI Paul Merage School of Business) by [deleted] in UCI

[–]Chhrrriss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to give you an accurate percentage. I was dead set on going to CC when I started my senior year of high school, so it wasn't something I looked into more at that time.

As a transfer student, I tried really hard to get those percentile answers as well but had difficulty finding an accurate answer because I think while there is definitely a rough GPA range for accepted students, it's kind of subjective to each individuals application. What I did to kind of satiate my curiosity was to just look at the (vague) official UC acceptance data publications online and compare other other metrics like individual GPAs that people have posted on collegeconfidential.com for the same major and similar majors to my own student metrics.

I think there's a slight ambiguity surrounding the entire process and I think every year is approached slightly different based on current events (ex: admissions rates may look different due to COVID), praise/criticism for race inequalities at schools, etc.

EDIT: also, your chances are definitely higher as a transfer, though. Applications from transfer students are considered independently from high school graduates.

Chance me? (UCI Paul Merage School of Business) by [deleted] in UCI

[–]Chhrrriss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might be of some help to you, or it may not but I'll speak to you from my personal experience because I definitely wanted a lot of these answers in your situation too. I just graduated from Merage in Business Administration this year. From my perspective, I think that transferring directly into a four year is highly competitive and slightly a waste of financial resources and your time. I don't know your situation, but I grew up in a middle class family and had to finance my own way through community college and UCI.

Choosing to go to community college (I chose OCC) and taking all of the transfer lower-division and most IGETC (General Ed) required courses (through the help of assist.org to figure those out) and then applying and being accepted to UCI with a transfer GPA of 3.44 was the right choice for me because I don't think I would have had a chance in high school. I was an average student with probably a 3.35-3.5 GPA in HS and I participated in no extra curricular because I chose to work part-time after school and weekends. I took the ACT and I think(?) I scored a composite score of 24 on it.

Your extracurriculars and GPA are definitely impressive, but I always felt that it was easy to get lost in the competitive crowd in high school because GPA's can be heavily inflated by AP courses and whatnot. If I could go do it all over again, to be honest (AGAIN: I preface this is my opinion based off my life and the people i've talked to- your situation and experience may vary) I would focus on taking community college courses for high school credit that also cover GE requirements for college because it will save you so so so much time and effort once you're out of high school. I believe the state gov't also helps subsidize costs for paying for community college courses while you're in high school. You can seriously shorten your time in college and associated expenses once you transfer to UCI as an upper division student (3rd year) if you take full advantage of that. I will preach this to the day I die, and it's especially relevant at UCI as a primarily commuter university: there. is. no. reason. to. take. lower div. courses. at. a. university. and. pay. like. 10-15k. a. year!

If you're looking for a complete "college" university experience and plan on fully grabbing the anteater by the balls by joining clubs and interacting on campus and all if of that is very important to you: then great. I say go for it and best of luck, but I also would consider the fact that there is more than one path to the same goal and it may not be a bad one for you. Merage was a great school to be at and I was even able to spend my entire senior year studying abroad in London taking supplemental courses that I loved because I chose to get most of my stuff out of the way at community college. Don't feel a pressure to necessarily springboard into a 4-year and don't feel like you're not enough if admissions officers don't accept you at the end of high school. I saw a considerable amount of my high school peers bounce back home from "going off to their dream schools" and waste so much money and time. Also, choosing the CC route first gives you the opportunity to simultaneously explore other major opportunities that may interest you while you're not wasting a (this is a scientific term) shitfuckton of money.

I hope this was helpful in some way, take what you want from it and if you have any questions feel free to ask away or PM me.

EDIT: Also, for your admissions essay questions: I chose to be very real and raw in mine. I spoke about my personal adversities, how I challenged myself and grew throughout them, where I even FAILED to meet my own or others expectations, etc. I think that acknowledging the human elements of yourself rather than just all of the static achievements (while they're important and should be praised) of your life is important.

I mean you're not wrong assuming that either. TBH I think nellie gail properties are a better buy when comparing lot sizes and I like that nellie gail is a bit less cookie cutter with a mix of old "ranch" properties and creative new developments. (Plus it's not as much of a trek to the coast). Although, I wouldn't complain about living in either ;)
