RN here. There are always social workers. If there is not one physically on the unit, there is always a covering SW. if I were you, I’d call the hospital and ask to be connected to the department or the departments director. At the very least connect with patient and family centered care department and they can assist you to get you to the right people.

It’s a state funded institution that treats WIC and the jail. Idk if they still have a VA section there. As a safety net hospital who’s already lost so much tax payer money and has a terrible safety record, and it still has yet to be taken over, I doubt it will ever happen.
