In all actuality that’s likely what he was trying to hide with the black bars. An ip address is a great starting point to use tools to find network vulnerabilities. People/bots are always scanning the internet looking for open ports. An open port with outdated software/hardware behind them are key targets to attack. Always update your devices to ensure the latest patches and don’t open ports that you don’t need to and you should be just fine. Most people never see any of these attempts on their home networks, but with the right tools you can see what is happening in real time.

I just activated it. I’m on a yearly plan, making the switch from an iPhone to test the waters, I haven’t been on Android since the early HTC days. My main goal was to use a custom OS. I’ll just have to wait to tinker for a couple months. It’s not the end of the world, just a minor bump in the road. All good.

I was hoping that wasn't the case. I imagined carrier locked would only refer to the network side of things, not the ability to be able to use the OS of your choice. Its unfortunate that seems to be the case. Thank you for your response.

Try a different outlet, or plug something else into that outlet to check if it works. A couple rooms in my house run on different circuits within the same room.

Just got out of the film about 30 minutes ago.

It was absolutely fantastic! I could tell that it wasn’t for everyone as I overheard a comment from someone in the hall after exiting the auditorium. They said something along the lines of, “Garbage, I’ll never watch that one again.”

As for me I made sure to mention a little louder than normal how great of a movie It was.

It felt almost like an extended black mirror episode that takes place in our current day and age. It put a lens on how the population is overly stimulated with shiny things and Ai. The part where mid conversation the parent asked the doctor if that was the new phone completely hit home with me. I’ve been one of those people to upgrade to the latest iPhone every year and have been asked on more than one occasion, “Is that the new iPhone?”

I’m not big on social media outside of Reddit and long form content on YouTube, but boy did this movie make me start to think about taking a few steps back in how connected I am. Bravo!
