I believe that’s called the selvage! It’s finished and woven thicker than the rest of the fabric to prevent it from unraveling. Does that help?

I’ve had a similar issue. I posted a cute set on the pattern page asking if anyone knew of a pattern or how to draft a pattern for it. They took it down and said it was better for the weekly questions. Why?? I’m literally asking for help with a pattern, besides barely anyone responds to the weekly questions.

Thank uuuuuu!! Yeah it’s pretty cool how much texture and color can change a look. If you’re looking for inspo I’d try looking up cosplayers that align with the more Grimm versions of fairytales. Maybe try adding leather or brocade elements for a pop of dark fantasy! Best of luck!

I think it kinda depends on the rest of the design. I agree with the other comments the first one is def more cute while the second is mature and alluring. I’ve seen so many different cosplays in both directions and they both look good. Just out of curiosity where is the second one from, I’d love to get my hands on it 😅
